Created/unlocked it a week before TWW start as I said. And my biggest surprise was that 3 days after I was at level 70.
Solid 4/10. Thereās way too many issues and nothing to do to make it a 7.
If I had to put a number on it, Iād pick 5/10, āmore of the sameā. I donāt hate TWW, but Iām not wowed by it at all. This is nothing like the release of TBC, WotLK, MoP or Legion. It feels more like a big content patch.
I like that resto shaman feels more fluid to me, and elemental shaman has a viable lightning build that is comparatively easy to play (but they keep nerfing it, so who knows how Iāll feel about that in a few weeks). I also like that knowledge points seem more plentiful.
Iām unimpressed by how much TWW so far feels like a reskin of DF, with many systems being exact copies. Nothing feels innovative or inspired. The story failed to grab me, everything seems a little unpolished, and I felt let down that even though we can now be in cross-faction guilds, I still wasnāt able to quest or queue with my Alliance friends. That this is ācoming laterā, like so many other things, doesnāt help how I feel about that. By the time it is added, weāll be doing M+ and raid.
I also feel 27 days between Early Access and M+ opening is too long. M0 should have started this week, not when the raid opens. Iāve actually been playing another game, which never happened before so soon after the release of a new expansion. My friends all also play less or stopped coming to our Discord server.
In some ways, this feels more like the end of an expansion than the start of one.
1/10
Couldnāt conjure the will or interest too keep going past 79⦠Feels like a patch content like Argus or Nazjatar. The next two gonna feel the same.
Weāre paying more for less than previous expansions⦠itās just a cashgrab
So far?..9,5ā¦I love the ānewā gearing system and its one of the reasons I keep playing, but its quite easy to make small mistakes when min/maxing and it gives me stress. Also I love the new instancesā¦no futile running around like in DF. If the TWW dungeons would be in M+ S1 then it would be 10.
Also I love the content āthroughā. I can just play with leasure without rush. If you are all ready out of content (which I doubt if you are not ubemployed atm)ā¦you can go play other games.
I give it a solid 8 for now because game allows me once again to play it in my way. After MoP something went seriously wrong. Too bad it took a decade to get back in a good track from solo player perspective. But all pretty good so far.
Could you be more specific about what helped in TWW?
Class design is better, Im not forced to do PvE with groups. Delves are 100% perfect for me when I want to do them. New areas are easy to navigate. I donāt feel I have to do something I donāt like. Very fun experience so far. And if I want to take 1 week break I can do it.
Only thing Im really missing is server communities. People donāt talk in game anymore.
I have high hopes for the Delves, I hope they live up to the hype.
Just relax and enjoy them. There is no need to even rush them and music is extremely good. Ambience is perfect for me.
I feel the game is not optimized well at all. It still doesnāt really utilize additional cores well, which is a shame because the engine is so heavily CPU-bound.
Itās my hope that engine optimization will become a higher priority when things settle.
Earthen 10/10 - new favorite and main character race. Thanks Blizzard for them.
Story 9/10 - especially the Earthen part, but I enjoyed most of it, even the campaign.
Dungeons 7/10 - I like some more, some less, but overall they are fine.
Delves 6/10 - I like the concept but they are a bit boring and Brann gets annoying really fast.
What I really didnāt like is the timegating on Earthen unlock, but that little wait was worth it.
So far, 7/10. I quite enjoy The War Within.
Finished the campaign and loremaster today.
4/10
Delves boring AF and I think making them harder wonāt change my mind. Done them solo and a group of 5 and we ( my guildies ) concluded itās Torghast but basically worse.
The dungeons are bad. My only credit they are short to medium in length , no RP bits.
But itās just alot of crap on the floor , unavoidable splash damage. Mobs charging you.
I like gimmicks I think the gimmicks are okay , but alot of players hate them. So itās like marmite when it comes to them.
The zones beautiful , I thought the ringing deeps quests went on waay too long and 70% of them were absolute ZZzz
I feel like they unlocked Earthen so late to push race changes and character boosts onto players to increase $$$
The raid albeit not out yet , why is all the loot soo very much versatility heavy. All 4 toons in my warband do not benefit from that stat at all. So forced down to spending on a fortune into crafting to push higher rio and tick off my bis lists in S1.
Btw this not only affects me and my toons alot of my guildies reporting the exact same thing.
Raid loot is basically mog , not useable however.
Hard to get excited for a new raid when thereās no carrot on a stick for most of us.
All the mounts are re-colours and skins of mounts we already have in game. As a mount collector very underwhelming.
The Sureki Skyrazor is just a gargoyle with bug parts stuck on. Why couldnāt they just let us have a proper nerubian mount. Why be lazy.
The music is the absolute highlight and I got nothing negative to say.
Professions still complicated to figure out. I mean we had 3 returning players asking questions about proffs and we fried their brains trying to explain it as simple as possible.
Those who say itās better than DF , I donāt know what youāre smoking.
Lastly I am aware itās pre-season and yes I will be pushing keys and raiding. I still think my opinion will hold. Iām hoping Season 2 improves.
As usual, great work from art/sound team, happy with core mechanics staying as it is and transferring directly from DF. Nothing more to say.
However, not happy with launch, itās a hot mess. Decision to hold endgame content for entire 2 weeks is absurdly bad considering that last campaign chapter was literally ~30 minutes of content. AH state for first few days was unacceptable and Iām shocked there were no consequences/compensations for those who wanted to make a fair bank in first days. General story doesnāt resonate with me as Blue/Bronze dragons quests questlines did, Alleria, Faerin and Anduin are super annoying (please let Xalāatath win, goth mommyās holding entire TWW plot on her back) and I completely canāt understand how Earthen made it to addon-selling race considering that they have less customization option than Void Elves (which are still asking to expand options). And also Iām not a fan of isolated Loamm-like zones that are hard to navigate in.
Overall so far feels like 6/10. Not as great and freedom-feeling as DF but still good.
I saw many talks about gear optimization. Is it worth to do it before m0/delve8 week? I believe just due to ilvl all the gear will be obsolete then. I thought that just getting best ilvl without spending upgrade shards and putting t2 enchants on it will be good enough. Are delve8/m0 expected to be so hard that they require absolute optimal setup? Not trolling, have no experience in mythics so itās genuine interest.
Side note:
You can look at demo lock, according to sims scaling is so bad that versatility is one of the top stats=)
Ff14 has more filler than the housewives of orange county
right now? 9/10
but when season starts itās gonna be 10/10 for me 100 % it has a lot of legion/BFA DF vibes and i enjoyed these expansions a lot
6/10, remove scaleing and ill give it a 10.
This is a bit weird for me. The game has been roughly a 7.8. Though the whole delayed launch for some and early launch for others. Has made the expansion wonky. Like delayed M0 and heroic weeks feels meh. So overall, its closer to a 5 for me. Though as things get back to normal, I think the expansion will improve. getting to that 7.8/10 I think it would be without the early launch.
So, the things that stood out for me.
Music: 10/10, knocked it out of the park
Graphics: I dunno, have mine tweaked so I can see channels, frontals, ground effects a lot better and such. Though overall this is an ongoing issue with encounter design and remains to be seen. This could be a 4/10 or a 9/10 depending on encounter designs.
Game play: 8/10 for fury and prot warrior. Might not be caster damage but feels right. DPS can always be tweaked later. Just love the overall feel of the spec.
Early launch and delayed launch: 0/10 completely ruins the feel of launch day by staggering the player base on what should be hype. Staggering heroic raid and mythic 0 week. Itās a complete failure in my eyes. It offers nothing from a player perspective.
New features
delve: 5/10, average start but feels like a solid core component. Looking forward to seeing this worked on and maturing. A lot of hit and miss with delves, some of them are just a terribly headache inducing mess. While others are really good. Real mixed bag.
Warband: 8/10 Itās like the beginning of something beautiful. Ticks a lot of boxes the game frankly needed. Some very aged gameplay mechanics that needed updating. Like rep, banking and so on. This will be one of those things that could modernise wow significantly.
