I think mass world PvP is disruptive and boring, but I wouldn’t be without it.
Exactly, too similar to raid/professional mind set. Wpvp is awesome, when casual encounters occur, with scaling rivalries between singular players or entire guilds, that go back and forth.
The most epic experience I’ve ever had in-game was when I was fresh off the MMO bus, back in vanilla. I had no idea what to expect, but a massive crowd just descended on X-Roads. It was absolute mayhem, but it was something that hasn’t been topped in the game for me, before or since.
I’m pretty sure I was in negative honour, too, because everyone kept killing civilians.
Was not, it was exactly same. Organizing and EVE experience seems to be helping. Horde killed both Azuregos and Kazzak because organized pve and pvp-shielding groups.
I guess there is a certain point above which it is just utter chaos.
Also, I’m not sure it’s much fun for melee, or specialisations with slow casts.
I really enjoyed AV stalemates both as a hunter as well as a healer.
Seen melee guys charging in, trying to make a difference a bit, then running out.
Tarren Mill vs Southshore (10 years event?) was similar.
It’s either a matter of organisation or simply pulling the numbers.
In a playable context large scale pvp sucks balls for the reasons you said, but the social aspect it is still fun, to feel part of something really big with so many people trying to achieve something together, it’s an epic feeling, atleast for me.
