What's the big difference between Tanaan Jungle and Korthia?

Yeah I know but it won’t last to me, it will last to new players. You effectively make a game that players that know how to play it hate and quit and only new players checking it out remain but those may run out eventually if the game is dull.

That’s definitely a concern, but even as a quester you can get some decent gear. I’d definitely argue that the vast majority of any patch zone should be accessible simply by playing that zone’s content for sure, and most areas should become trivial - you sort of make a gradient across the zone where most of it trivialises to anybody eventually.

I also think that players of “the big three” as you put it want to get Korthia out of the way because they fundamentally don’t really want to play it much, whereas people who only do world quests will want it to present exploration for longer in and of itself. Thus the zone doesn’t bother people who don’t wanna play it, but the people who want to play nothing but it still get engaging gameplay, so I’m not too worried.

A subtle catch up system is also good in this regard, similar to rested experience - so if you don’t play for a while because you’re casual you don’t fall hopelessly behind and will get to the full experience sooner or later.

Well, I don’t fit that ‘mould’ of a non ‘big 3’ player.
I like to get stronger. I like it that content becomes trivial at some point.
I don’t want to have to keep struggling to get mobs down. That’s not fun for me.

But look; like I said… For me Korthia ITSELF is flawed. It’s a depressing zone. It’s not fun to be in. Whereas in BfA, even though the content wasn’t the greatest, the launch zones were so gorgeous and felt alive and real and cool that I still loved being out there. And sometimes I just went exploring for the heck of it without even doing any actual ‘content’.

Korthia is simply a bad zone in that regard (it’s not even a proper zone technically, it’s just a part of the Maw - another zone which is horrible to be around in). Most of Shadowlands pretty much is.

Ps; another gripe I have with Blizzard is that they keep calling stuff ‘cities’ that aren’t cities AT ALL. Korthia and Oribos being the most recent offenders.

And my suggestion does that. Consider the notion of elite areas - not that many - but almost the entire zone is trivial once you cap out your gear from questing. In the case of Korthia max out means upgrading the items to max. You can do that entirely in Korthia.

Korthia has the problem of strict dailies and strict rep caps per day - and missing a day puts you behind permanently. That’s gotta get fixed.

Korthia really looks grey and uninspired. Yeah. The most unique things are… weirdly boring. The chains, really. But this is an art issue, not a quest design issue.

Also I despise those “jump around on branches quests”. So annoying - game’s movement is clearly not built for it.

I don’t care about ‘being behind’. As a non ‘big 3’ player, Blizzard has already made sure I’m PERMANENTLY behind. Unfortunately.

Thing is; once I have all those items upgraded the big carrot to do it is gone.
So the system doesn’t work. I get more powerful for what? For doing content I no longer need to do?

That part of it is fine. The reason you’re behind is precisely so you get more time to savour it. It’s important for longer. People playing “the big 3” want it out of their way, so they want to speed past it.

To me it’s not.

And so I can make my argument again that this game really needs seperate progression for different activities and that world content really deserves to be its own (4th) endgame pillar.

Alright fine, but the best of gear in it is gonna eat you alive if you don’t prepare yourself well.

Taanan has a nice mount you can get for resources which I still haven’t got shakes fist

like corruptions a gear with negative effects?

No. Like the mobs all have 300k HP and do huge amounts of damage and you gotta eat and flask and oil and if you try to bring a group it’ll scale up and you don’t get multi-tagging and it’s elites everywhere and very difficult boss monsters and you only get weeklies and the mobs respawn behind you and run out everywhere and have 5-6 mechanics and are just nasty as all hell.

The really big diference, the BIG one?

You can fly in Tanaan Jungle.

Wth, no. Get real.

I am absolutely real. You want mythic loot? Earn it.

Not your concern when it’s progression FOR THAT CONTENT ONLY.
You do your preferred content and I won’t tell you how THAT should be.

Talk about burrowed power from Hell.

tanaan was kinda wild and prety with lush jungle - korthia just like maw is dead boring land.

hopefully next epxansion we wil lsee much more interesting locations because whole of SL feels extremly empty dead and bland to me
