And it should require some skill to do it. Loot pinata islands are pure chemical exploitation of the brain. They require no skill but they give the delusion they did because the rewards are constant with minimal effort.
Some skill. That’s much too vague. Skill is another subjective term that can mean vastly different things to different people.
As far as I’m concerned ANY content already requires ‘some skill’.
I have no problem with what you call ‘loot pinata’ content. But I do think that it shouldn’t be the ONLY thing. A little bit of everything would be nice; some easy content, some medium difficulty, some hard difficulty. And all of that spread across a wide array of different activities in the open world setting. That would be awesome imo.
Yes I understand it’s partly subjective but even the subjectivity has limits. For the vast majority of players clearing Korthia is a job they can do by playing with 1 hand and I doubt anyone can dispute that easily; yes: you can be more optimal at the time you waste on it compared to others but even that has limits; within 2-3 weeks of gameplay those islands should be done but they are kept up being important for progression for months which is lame.
5mans is content that can be ‘solo-ish’ but has good progression; doing level 15 for the best Vault is something that needs some moderate skill for most players; you can go to hard core levels with it but even 15 is way more skillful than korthia.
Playing with 1 hand is hyperbole. And silly (no offense to anyone who only has the ability to play with one hand; hats off to you).
And to you it might be lame; to me it’s nice.
Since I don’t play ‘the big 3’ it’s nice that there’s a place with activities that don’t feel redundant within a few weeks.
I really don’t agree that it’s solo-ish. You are dependant on the performance of those 4 other players for your succesful outcome. With solo content only you yourself are to blame for failure.
I wouldn’t know. I hate Torghast. It’s really bottom-of-the-barrel content as far as I’m concerned. I don’t even know what the highest level is that I’ve ever done, but it’s low. And it’s been ages since I went there. I just hate that place so much.
It isn’t. As long as you have a a mouse with enough buttons to cover your most important abilities, you’re all set to play with one hand. I have a friend who plays like that, not because he has to, but because he can and prefers it that way, and I could too although I don’t have as many buttons, but still enough to play world content. I believe most could play like that if they wanted.
He’s got 12 side mouse buttons and moves by holding both left and right click. No need to bind any extra movement on any of the buttons as the left+right movement click is enabled up default.
Obviously he doesn’t play that way all the time, only when the content is simple enough.
True: you can move like that. I also want backwards somewhere because it can help in some special cases (like tanking or “tanking” solo or avoiding some stuff).
Then there’s also one hand only having that much control so I prefer not having those keyboard-mice and I prefer them to have max 4 to 6 side buttons.
I could never get used to the 12 buttons, so I settled for the middle ground of 6, because then I still have space to rest my thumb under the buttons, but a lot of the people I know do use the 12 buttons. I also never play with one hand as I personally don’t find it comfortable.
And yes, playing with one hand limts movement a lot, but then again, we’re talking about korthia and open world in general where that hardly matters, although the above mentioned friend of mine even plays some lower keys with one hand.
Yeah I also prefer up to 6 sides because the control is already limited above 4. I got 5 now and it appears enough (even though they put those “trigger” buttons too far but that’s another matter).
I use this one for WoW, with the 6-button side plate. A bit pricey, but I’m happy with it. All of the side buttons on that panel are super easy to reach and it’s still comfortable to hold the mouse without having to worry about accidentally pressing any of them. https://www.razer.com/gaming-mice/razer-naga-pro/RZ01-03420100-R3U1
Yeah: that does look better than the gigantic keyboard it has alternatively since the control would be more snappy. I got a g502 recently. I generally get logitechs because I find them the most robust when they are high end (though almost everything nowadays gets repeating-clicks eventually because they try to save on battery life and the microswitches they use are lower voltage and power).
edit: oops: g502 not g604; the g604 seems also good but it appears older gen and heavier.
