Whats the point of "Shadowmeld"?

I disagree.

Shadowmeld is almost completely useless for PvP. Quickness (+1% dodge) is laughable too.

Shadowmeld used to be a great ability to have and Night elves used to be feared by the Horde in Vanilla when you could cast Aimed Shot while Shadowmelded.

The Horde cried a sea of tears (flooded the forums) however and thus shadowmeld got nerfed to the ground to its current useless state.

Unsurprisingly, the Horde’s own OP racials weren’t nerfed at all in Vanilla.

Its great in pvp, just not in the organized BG kind of pvp.

eeehm, you can’t (normally) stealth in combat as a rogue and druid, too. SM is great for defnding objectives, best ability ever

As a hunter: tame lowlvl per in Durotar. Shadowmeld. Wait for lowlvls to get PvP flag. Enjoy the gank.

Also, if someone opens with a cast on you, you can meld.

Feign death / shadowmeld is kinda like a budget vanish.

Macro it to things like drinking/eating.

Its really nice to send your pet on someone then SM before he reaches the target. Gives you a slight element of surprise and allows the pet to get some damage off. I mean if you’re BM you can let your pet wreck clothies before you even consider attacking.

World PvP it’s amazing just to have the ability to be hidden.

BGs it’s amazing for defending flags or even waiting in enemy base to get flag back.

Macro it to traps to confuse enemy players after feign death. Quite often people just switch target.

It really has so many uses and as a hunter I think it’s one of the best PvP talents out there when combined with prowl.

Its useful to park you char somewhere in the open world and have it not being ganked after lunch.

It will be very useful in Arathi Basin, where you basically just act as a stealthclass guarding a base without being rogue.

As a warrior you get to charge from shadowmeld.

And probably from a 2020 perspective its a good racial to afk farm honor in AV.

Lots of uses for it . Use your imagination . Eating . Having a warrior charge your pet . Rogues having a really hard time to engage you. Rogues losing their combo points . Think you can also make pets stop attacking you while running away and probably more.( Not sure about this 1 ). Not getting ganked in the world. Defending.

Any1 who says it’s an rp ability simply doesn’t know how to play . If I played ally I’d play nelf hunter for sure. Dwarf is good too but don’t like their animations

Sometimes you can interrupt(avoid) a cast with it. If you see someone starting a fight with you with a hard cast, just press SM and retake the initiative.

Yeah  I use this in Retail alot. Good to know that is available in Classic too. I just was surprised the SM dont remove combat just like Retail.

And felwood is off limit the day before raid or what? If you raid Wednesday he can stand there on Tuesday and do it wtf xD

because u want to play elf priest… no fearward sucks

It has a 10 second cooldown, I don’t think you should be surprised, it’d be overpowered.

Used to do this all the time too!
Shadowmeld is a really underrated racial, lets you pounce on enemies or just go afk for a while without risking death.

It’s really good for soloing dungeons (dm tribute for example ^^).

You can hide with it and you can use it after you FD as a discount vanish. You can break two casts that way. Mages do not like that.
