it is not about meta it is about your dps or hps and about are u doing your job better than ppl around you … if u are using meta talents and u are worst than 95% of ppl than u can just put that meta into trash can
It’s good to have meta
for example in POE you can play it by yourself and clear the game slowly with your own build if you play enough
and then there are builds that will let you stomp the end game without using a a single core of your brain 
just copy paste into path of building and you done
That’s not nice.
On topic, the reason there is a meta is to prevent any class/spec from having the potential to break the game.
Finding a build that the devs didn’t account for is a problem.
Hence why we have these cookie-cutter builds instead.
Even if meta builds exists, if this new talent tree is careful monitored and nerfs/buffs on par the freedom to pick what you want is amazing!
