I said you are getting extra from the world quests you are doing, not extra as in 2k gold just extra gold on the side depending what wq you are doing. YOu get the base that you mentioned which is aprox 2 k then whatever else you got from the wq anime power, gold ,items to vendor. The paragons are the ones that give about 3.5k which is what i had in mind initially.

Aaah okay I was about to open a ticket with blizzard like WHERE MU MUNII

At the end of Legion they were 300k.

I remember a 450k at one point. Might have been around Blizcon.

The WoW token is going really hight, And the boosting service too.

The boosting service with gold is increasing so high, like today i have done 3 RBG in very low rating ( under 1400 ) and 2 game in front i faced RBG boosting team :

  • 1 of them was only 4 that joined, and afk at the base waiting for us to 3 cap and end the game
  • in front 40 k health people playing the same than at 2K1
  • 1 normal game were both team were balance.

And that because of Boosting team like gino or icecrown and the rest sell boosting for gold.
And these booster buy back wow token for free game time and recently there were many event that filled a bit in game shop for blizzonline and everything that booster keep farming, and prepare their gold for 9.1 for their legendary.

i will not be suprise if the WoW Token will be up to 275k gold soon.

If we’re printing money, how come I’ve never bought so many tokes as I have in Shadowlands? Ah yeah, legendaries and AH gear, forgot about those gold sinks …

Not exactly.

It’s about the ratio of subscribers to gold users.

And generally speaking, when an expansion is stale and the content’s over, people who are subscribers leave and take a break. It’s generally less likely for you to quit if you’re not actually paying for the game with real money, and using gold instead. Kind of the same thing happened at the end of BFA. Reaching 200,000 and surpassing it. Which by the start of shadowlands, the number went down significantly. to around 140k i believe.

The ones buying token on the other hand, will still buy tokens. Creating this supply and demand situation, which tokens are less and less available, so they go up in price.

not expensive anymore?

why would you buy that anyways if you are not a world first raider? xD

you play the pay 2 win game, that is why you waste money on tokens and fuel the death machine that actitrash activated.
you are legit buying a ah item for 100 eur? xD
found the whale

Panic over gametime changes, even tho there’s no true change in price per month.

Because less people are playing and buying tokens to sell on the AH.

the rise of token prices is showing how many people are actively buying +15 boosts to unlock 220 itlv unlocks for valor gear.

this is proving how correct was decision of Bobby to make SL absolute garbage complete p2w expansion .

I was half ironic - but yes, legendaries and AH gear has been very expensive. I only have 2 lvl 60, and I do callings once in a while since I’m exalted with everything. Even if I have herb/mining on both I simply can’t keep up.

It seems you don’t understand how wow economy works. There is a set amount of money that is inside the game that circulates between the players. Generally things cost more or less depending on supply and demand but also inflation.

Now supply and demand is easy to get ,inflation on the other hand is something harder. It happens when we are making gold out of thin air,or more or less printing gold. This usually comes from vendoring trash items, mission table gold rewards, quest gold rewards, world quest gold reward etc. At any point the game just gives you gold it’s printing money, the same case as the callings.
In order to keep inflation in check the game needs to have gold sinks where the player gives the game money,NOT OTHER PLAYERS. The gold needs to be injected out of the economy with methods such as transomg, repair costs, mounts, items from the vendor etc.

IF gold is not removed from the economy the gold inside the economy will keep growing bigger and everything will cost more ,since people have more money, and the price rises ,same with the token if the gold inside the economy rises then more people will fiind the token to be cheap in their minds,so they buy it with gold ,and the more people do that the more the cost of the token rises to make sure the supply and demand remains equal, you want to have as much demand for the token as much supply there is.THe same way if people buy too many tokens with real money and want to sell them but they don’t cause they are too expesnive they will just drop in price until the tokens start selling again.

This is a small explanation on how it works, but the most important take from it are ,STUFF THAT TO NOT REMOVE GOLD FROM THE ECONOMY : Buying an item off ah(the gold goes to another player, yes 5% cut is actually removed but it’s nothing compared to the gold that is just moved to another player),trading items with another player ,enchants, gems,BUYING A TOKEN(yes buying a token is just moving money from player A to player B).

Legendaries,ah gear are not gold sinks…(or are extremely small ones )
they are trades performed with another player a legendary that costs 1 milion gold on the ah ,will net a gold sink of 50 k gold(that’s how much is removed from the game when you buy it over the ah),meanwhile a 1 milion mount on the vendor is exactly that,a 1 milion gold sink that leaves the economy and lowers the money in the game. It is 20 times more effective.

Yes this could be the answer. Number of players selling tokens is going down faster than the number of buyers.

Or maybe Blizz is messing with the numbers artificially to sell more tokens.
If you increase their value they become more attractive and Blizzard sells more of them.
Anything is possible coming Blizzard at this point.

I do understand how “le” economy works (both inside and outside of WoW…) What my half ironic statement was meant to say was. Gear accusation hasn’t been fast enough for my time spent/time that I can spend. This has led me to buy stuff of off AH.

For ME that has been a gold sink that has resorted to buying tokens to keep up. Plus you know, keeping up with flasks and potions hasn’t been cheap either.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t actively farm gold and with 2 lvl 60, doing callings doesn’t net me enough.

I understand that for you it has been a personal gold sink, unfortunatly your gold goes to another guy which uses it to buy tokens most likely, and there alot of others that just print gold to buy tokens so their price will only go up since there are fewer selling the token, and because we just keep injecting so much raw gold in the economy.

I would really want to know how one can get 2k+ from a calling, only the purple calling pays around that, but the normal is usually 1.5K (for me at least, is there any sactuary upgrade related buff for gold or something?)
Paragon pays 3K

One possibility is that those who buy a token to sell for gold are no longer playing the game, therefore the number of tokens available have dropped causing a supply/demand issue which has increased the gold cost of the token.

Just speculating.

No, that’s literally the opposite of what would happen. Supply and demand works like this: More supply of something than demand drives price down until demand meets supply.
More demand of something than supply drives price up until supply meets demand.

So when fewer people buy tokens for gold and more buy them for real money the price should go down because supply would increase but demand decrease.

What we’re seeing is the opposite, there’s low supply of tokens so the price is going up, simply because fewer people are buying them for real money because fewer people play the game and fewer people see a point in buying gold at the end of a raid tier and fewer people see a point in playing the game because there’s nothing left for them to do
