Why are token prices suddenly increasing so much? First it was 160k…then 194k…now 204k…is it because of the tbc beta?
Could be the change to game time?
Oh, thanks. Time to get some gold it seems.
Hmm don’t think so…the 194k has been going on for atleast 2 weeks now while the game time change were just announced recently
Could it be connected to the policy changes regarding multiboxers? If there are fewer multiboxers buying tokens for gold, would that not drive the gold price up?
It’s inflation of gold. The callings really did a number on the economy again 4 k gold from each is just printing gold btw that’s why its steadily but surely increasing. We are printing money again, not WOD or Legion value mind you but still we are not bleeding it like in bfa .There is also no scrapper so all gear is vendored again printing money.
First jump was because of diablo 2 preorder, then SL sale, the one happening right now with sudden 10k jump is obviously due to game time changes (requiring more tokens to play). Also, naturally it gets more expensive over time as fewer people buy gold for boosts.
So is it best to buy tokens now or wait?
As in to spend them on my sub not sell them on ah.
Prices have been on the rise since January. It’s been pretty steady since late Feb but now it’s spiking up again some.
That was just for US. UKs game time change was announced back in late December.
IMO it’s just because the supply is slowly dwindling as players quit, and content drought of 9.0 waiting on 9.1 could make people favor paying for WoW with gold not IRL cash. So supply is dwindling but demand is staying relatively the same.
I was thinking myself same, when to buy them. Was hoping it would go down a bit, but blizz seems to keep making it worse and worse. Not only higher gold cost, but also need 1 extra token.
Until there is a gold sink in game the price will only go up with maybe rarely going down sometimes(its just the flow of the market at that point). Major events such as new games on the bnet will only increase the game token price again . The new content patch might bring it down depending on what is it in it but besides that i wouldn’t hold my breath to see it go down.
As the player base shrinks the cost of tokens will keep going up as there are not as many players buying them for real money to sell them for gold.
Alright…bought one
i would think if less people are playing the game and more keep leaving , there is less people to keep buying the tokens to keep the price down… so it will slowly increase as the demand for them become less dominant
I only get a max of 2k for my callings tho?
Still better than 0 overall shadowlands increased the gold earned in the same amount of time compared with BFA who made the price of the token explode.
I imagine its a mix of less people buying tokens to sell for gold because the content push as finished. Along with more gold available in the game.
With less people buying (to sell) the tokens, and more people with gold wanting to buy the tokens for game time or Blizzard money, the price is going to sky rocket.
I’m not making anywhere near as much gold from AH as I was making this time last month, and the same was true for the month before that. Not only is the amount of sales going down, but the price of what I’m selling (mostly legos) is going down due to the competition increasing. Sure the price of mats are going down, but 1 Rank 4 lego I have now stopped crafting because it’s sale price is now less than the crafting cost (due to a mega goblin crashing the market on it last week). I still make enough gold to buy a Wow token each week, but I wouldn’t expect that to be the case next month, especially is there is no incentive to get people to play the game in a content drought.
The prices we saw at the beginning of the expansions were ridiculously low. Partly due to lockdowns and more people are home over the Xmas period. I don’t think we’ll ever see it that low again. But the prices are the moment are high. I don’t think it’ll go down again until 9.1 is released.
That might have happened because people bought tokens for the dino mount.
Maybe, plus most of the token we have (right now) is because of boosting and I feel the price (boost price) is dropping and activity is being reduced as more and more people get the KSM and Curve.
Else the price would be 2 or time 3 bigger. There are multiple factors who can influence the wow token price.
A lot of people like to blame boosting but they forget that they are boosting who brings wow tokens to the game.
DId throw the money that comes from the paragon, which is my bad you still get more than 2 k doing the callings i usually get money from the items to vendor or from the world quest themselve sometimes upperwards of 600 + gold from being the “elite quest” ,point still stands that its printed money not that fast though.
