Callings do not give 3-4 k gold.

People love to lie and exaggerate.

Seems they were nerfed recently, they used to be circa 3k to 4k, but the three I did today awarded 1.9k each.

Not quite the levels of Legion when it hit 400k

400k?!

It is because of TBC clasic upcoming relase, it will keep rising and after relase it will drop again.

In Legion it was due to the mission and world quest giving so much gold that maked a influation on the price, since BFA and today it has been way lowered.

Also in Shadowland, Raw Gold farming has been nerfed hard, that mean that it’s harder to ‘generate’ gold on the server, and so the more WoW Token is sold.

It was people buying tokens on AH and converting to balance to buy things that drove it high.

Callings give on avg 1650gold
Paragon chests give on avg 3500gold

No calling gives 900g.

I can’t help wondering if a certain hyperinflated bonus that a certain board member got having some detrimental effect on WoW tokens being bought… with a view to not funding further occurrences.

A calling is about 1.5-2k gold (2K for the ‘rare’ ones) which for me covers flasks pretty much. I do callings on 4 characters currently and it nets a decent amount. This time around callings do not take that long either compared to BFA (except the thorgast one, I do not do that one.) You can also add the occasional Paragon chest on that, which is a solid 3.5K bonus. Once all of my characters become exhalted with all factions the number of paragons I get will only increase further.

I also do mission tables on top of all this on all 4 characters. It gets me by without ever having to touch tokens. I can understand however that at the start buying your first legendary, especially for a mail or leather wearer, was a huge investment. My guild solved it by having dedicated crafters who offered to craft those legendaries at a discount for people who needed it.

Those three were the drops from the chest, it totalled to 1896 gold, normally you get vendor trash between the 1.4K and 1.9K range.

I would say raw gold farming has been shifted. Now instead of funneling it to your pockets from the command table it now comes from callings and paragon chests (in BFA they mainly came from paragon chests.)

callings give around 1.6~1.8k
its the paragon chest that gives between 3~3.5k

but dear lord few mythic keys and I have less than before doing the callings :frowning:

It’s actually the opposite, if less people buy tokens for gold, there’s more supply than demand, thus price goes down.

Price going up means there’s high demand for tokens.
