So, this was a 17. There are two possible scenarios when you find someone in a 17.
Either the hunter was a relatively new player, and this character was the first he’d got to that level. In that case (unless he’d paid for boosts, in which case he had no-one but himself to blame), he would have done a LOT of dungeons to get to a 17. You just don’t get to that level as a new M+ player without being exposed to the basics of your class - like someone saying to you ‘hunter why don’t you have a BL pet?’ - on the way.
The other possibility is that he wasn’t a new M+ player, the hunter was an alt, and he got to a 17 because he had friends who helped him out with keys on their better geared characters. As a more experienced player he had absolutely no excuse for turning up for a key without a BL pet available should it be needed… as you did, in fact.
I’m usually one of the first to say that most fails are the group leader’s responsibility because he picked the members, but you are taking it too far. When I make a group, I go so far as to check what spec hunters play when they sign up (because I know a MM hunter is likely to make drama over being expected to get a pet out for BL), but I expect a surv or BM hunter to have a BL pet to use. To turn up to a key at that level without one would be like a mage or shaman turning up without timewarp/heroism on their bars.
I mean, if you have people to take to straight into higher keys, then I guess it doesnt take that long, but if you start at 0 Score, and have to pug, I’d argue, it takes a while.
I didn’t say they should get a free boost. You just said the game/expansion has been out for 2 years. I just pointed out that, not all have played the game for all this time. I actualy think most haven’t. Yeah, the hunter part, doesn’t sound to good. But not everybody looks at guides. Maybe he had been lucky with groups… Mayb But i also was in a group or raid, where a hunter didn’t have DL. It just didn’t bother me. Might be as i’m more casual. Don’t know that much about the game myself. I did experince a LFR run, where a tank, had joined, but according to someone else, he wasn’t tank spec. I think he said he hadn’t signed up as tank.
oh these numbers are real? While metacritic numbers are not real… in one ocassion people rate the whole game… in other ocassion people just follow a famous streamer watching him does just raid… and of course wow as older game and once very successful have the most streamers…
But last post for me, I dont care to wake you from your emerald dream… you have no idea how popular FFXIV is… I am here because I have sub, I play both games and I know which one has much more players etc.
Removing the key downgrade if you don’t beat the timer would be a start.
If you are lead, you not only put yourself at risk of failing, and wasting more time that the other members of the group, but also you could potentially run into a situation where your key gets downgraded because you had giga trash group members. Or maybe something else happened.
Wanna know why it’s so “toxic” Well, you should look at yourself first, are you doing things properly not to piss off other people? And second, because the game overly punishes, so people have even higher standards than normal.
Because they wanna make 100 % sure, or at least get as close to that 100 % as much as possible, in order to avoid fail groups.
it was not active mitigation it was threat issues coming from me doing +15-16 with 250 itlv and 226 green weapon when people with 270 itlv were bursting aoe hard but you were close :0
the moment i got 262 weapon 0 threat issues and close immortal mode in 15-16 on guardian
im as casual as one can be. dunno what can be more casual then doing 1 dungeon a week on most chars.
again - its always ok to learn. but keys like 17-18 are not the key level where people should learn about the dungeon , about their class , about tactics what interupts are etc etc
again - i doubt anyone has any issues with people doing those mistakes in like +7 . but +17 ? i mean come on .
why do every single player feels entitled to runing +15 and higher ? what is wrong with rning like +12 if you know you have issues ?
for example i know im extremly bad on my rogue - i mean really really bad. so i just run like 12-13 on it (its my only class not doing 15s this tier ) - and never have issues neitehr with getting into groups or people whining that my dps is extremly bad.
similiar - i know im pretty bad at playing my dk tank - so i was doing 12-14 on it till it hit close to 270 and only then started to do 15s.
yeah, you should know it at 17+. But all the experiences i have mentioned was 14 and below. I think it was this weekend i did my first 15. But i just want to get my keymaster mount, then i think i’ll unsubscribe. I think their dungeons are so poorly designed. Horrible content. So much time wasted, just trying to do a dungeon, or a few. Plus zereth mortis is just boring long grind, with horrible droprate
Was in many games - failed every time, its not even an activity.
Oh, you are invented Torghast dungeon generation? Yep, nothing draws you into the game like 50 floors of a random without design and balance.
Geeee, minigames in MMORPG, how ingeneous is dat. Guess that minigames in WoW are baaaaad because they are in WoW and minigames in ff14 is good because they are in weeaboo theme park… Did they put an screen for anime?
Your game lost 60% of its population in just six months. Its maximum is 30k population. You’re in a weight class between a mouse and a small squirrel. You should be comparing your little, dying MMO to something like Wildstar. https://i.imgur.com/1Pp0ec2.png
Every year does, buddy. It will die soon, very soon, you just have to wait a little longer.
What’s more valid? The rating of 20 people or the rating of 2mil people? Do you see the difference?
Meanwhile in your example the majority simply doesn’t even care at all I’d argue it’s a minority who follows a streamer over the game and its content.
I might be a bad exmaple cause I don’t follow any streamer, nor do I watch streams a lot but when I was playing Lost Ark I didn’t watch a single WoW streamer, even tho they were playing Lost Ark for content.
Sure, that’s true but old doesn’t mean good and a game gains streamers and viewers being good not, old. Look at Lost Ark… it’s kinda new and already has double the viewers compared to FF14 as we are speaking. I’d even argue the game is not interesting to watch due to the top down view. PvP is also not really easy to understand for the majority, while PvE is plain boring, not just to watch but also to play.
You are just this typical FF14 player. Idk why but the FF14 community has zero tolerance about other opinions. Only one opinion is right and that’s “the game is super good and has tons of content”, meanwhile even Yoshi P said people should stop playing the game when they have nothing to do and wait for new content. What you brought up as content, people would go crazy if someone dared to say that for WoW and it would be partially right.
I played FF14 and I’d claim to be experienced enough to rate the game without being a whiteknight nor a hater.
And how do you know? Since I am apparently unable to know even tho I played both games.
