Pugged through 8/8 normal perfectly fine, only last boss took a few tries but wasnt bad at all. Currently sitting at 7/8 in HC with everything being pretty easy except broodmother that was quite a wall but eventually worked out. I feel like I am out of options for last boss though, I am confident in my own ability to play the fight but I just dont think the fight is doable in a pug unless you can join a full group who already has 8/8. Problem is you cant really get into those groups before killing it and you cant really kill it in a pug without getting into those groups.
It really feels like at this point I should just suck it up and farm the gold for a HC 8/8 so I can just join reclear groups from then on out. Way too many clueless people in most groups unfortunately.
In your case itâs not so bad because you have given all the bosses a real try, but when I see people who havenât even entered normal or tried to even attempt it a little buy a boost I just think it is really sad. For me personally raiding has always been what âwowâ is, working through a raid slowly ect and killing things as a team, and they are paying someone to just do it all for them, it must be so unsatisfying and cheap feeling. Theyâre missing out on the best feelings this game has to offer.
I am split on it because I do enjoy playing the encounters but I dont enjoy the clueless people who cant do mechanics, the people who leave after a single pull and the 10-15 min waits between pulls when people leave. I dont even feel like I am buying a boost at this point because I dont plan on laying flat on my butt doing nothing, I feel like I am paying for the oppurtunity to play the fights with competent people.
Again, reason I like LFR more as an experience. I dont get screwed over by a handful of people who cant do a mechanic to save their lives.
In Mythic + player currently with 2550 score and i don t give a damn about raiding, i only need the 4 set from there, currently 2set.
I m boosting currently mythic plus and with the gold I gather i will buy full hc clear.
It s simple.
Itâs quite early for pugs to clear it. Most of the ones who can put in the effort to clear it are doing it with a guild.
Pugging Curve will probably always take longer than the average AotC guild would. At the moment, not a whole lot of AotC guilds have killed her yet - at least not on my server. The guilds that already killed her are mostly Mythic progress guilds. Only a couple of retired Cutting Edge guilds have killed her fast and stopped there. You might get better luck with pugs in a couple of weeks or so, once HC prog is over for more people. Theyâll start pugging Rasz at the end of the week then.
Or⌠youâre hoping for a full group of magically competent players who all happen to be pugging at the same time because they canât commit to a guild schedule.
Either way, itâs a bit early to reach for the wallet in desperation. Itâs only been a month.
See I am not in any hurry or reaching for my wallet out of desperation because I want the kill now for the sake of having it.
I want my AotC now because I still need loot from the raid and having AotC now will save me a lot of pain in the long run because then I can just reclear with any of the many pug/semi-guild runs doing reclears requiring the achievement.
Its a stepping stone to actually get into more competent groups to make it more efficient.
Pretty much same situation as OP, Iâve given up on even pugging raids because people take wayyyy too many tries to learn easy strats and take ages to pull, I spent 180k gold on Razsageth normal just to complete the quest but I wonât do the same for HC, not worth it.
It is absolute pain not even getting past the 1st phase of HC rasz because half the raid havnt put their kick/cc/purge on their hotbar so you just die to orbs. Or they cant step out of the extremely telegraphed breath after the 4th time dying to it or cant figure out to stand with their back against the pools during knockback.
The fights are actually really fun when you get to play them but when you just spend 90% of the time wiping and replacing people it is the most painful thing ever and it is completely out of your own control. There is not a single thing you can do to prevent these people from wasting yours and everyone elses time.

Dude, join a raiding guild. Hereâs how:
- Visit
https://www.wowprogress.com/pve/eu/draenor
(assuming you play on Draenor).
- Filter some more, e.g. by guilds that are recruiting for your class, or by how often you want to raid per week.
- Browse through the listed guilds, read their descriptions, and contact them.
For me personally, I need to get up early in the mornings, so I only looked for guilds that stop raiding at 22:30.
The more competitive guilds will look at your logs to check if youâre a good player. But there are tons of heroic raiding guilds that donât have super strict entry requirements.

Try to find a guild run filling up with your role? Thatâs what I try to do as my guild only runs normal (itâs an M+/ casual guild).
Thanks for the advice on strats.
I wish there were a series of posts on forums where you are just simply told what to do. Kick this. Stand there.
Watching all those endless videos gives me headache.
I few people I know pugged full heroic clear for free, so should be doable?
Well, okay, I guess nobody would admit they paid for it.
Itâs doable by hardcore PuG raiders who play non-stop at the start of the season. Once those âearly birdâ PuG raiders have 8/8 HC and they start farming HC weekly, theyâll only want other 8/8 HC raiders. Itâs extremely hard to join PuG raids later on in the season as DPS; even if youâre 1 week and 1 boss kill behind, youâll have a much harder time getting invites.
Before you end up giving gold for that heroic kill, try to see if you can join the heroic raids of some streamer raiders.
They tend to be more skilled than the average PuG and more likely to have enough people who are coordinated due to discord channels etc.
I already got to 4/8 Heroic by joining the viewer raid of one of these streamers and learning the bosses on the way.
Imo it should be completly banned.
If youâre buying the last boss, do you really want to pay for a full clear? You have your 7/8 legit. Sure, you might get some extra gear from another clear, but youâll be paying ~800K instead of ~350K for that chance, an extra 450K of farming.
As I explained earlier. I would be doing it exclusively to have the 8/8 for future weeks so I can get into AotC reclear groups and save myself the pain. As someone said earlier, pugging just gets harder the further âbehindâ you fall, most good pug players get their AotC early and play in those groups and the longer you wait the worse your groups will be on average.
Buying a boost of any kind is a personal choice.
Like Grainne I would suggest just buying a final boss kill rather than a whole raid. Price difference is quite considerable.
Well yeah obviously id only be paying for the boss I actually need. Its just a bit of a pain feeling like I have to pay for something that I am 100% confident in my ability to finish but cant for reasons outside my own control.
This is one of those moments when wowâs raid design+raid size works against it because it only takes like one or two bad people making it into a group of around 20 to completely ruin it for everyone. Big reason why I personally prefer smaller scale content like m+
