Just logged on and hitched a ride to The Loch when I noticed the ‘Request Stop’ button was there. When did this happen?
I thought that when I first seen it, I don’t remember that ever being in the game when I played.
I just put it down to me not remembering but I’m 99% sure.
It’s a minor change they implemented to reflect the fact that Request Stop has always been in the game; you used to just have to log out and back in whilst on a flightpath, and the bird would stop at your next available point. Still #Nochanges, but removes the need to log out to use it.
Does it work for you guys?
I’ve tried using the button multiple times but it never seems to do anything. Nor does logging out for that matter.
I assumed that they accidentally left the button in from retail, but that it didn’t actually do anything if you pressed it.
I think it only works if the next flight point is one you have already discovered.
I used it yesterday.
- Was flying to western plaguelands from Stormwind
- Remembered that i needed to take a quest in Ironforge
- Pressed the button
- Griffin took me to IF
If you’ve selected to fly from say, Durotar to Tanaris the flight will take you all the way unless you 1) log out or 2) use the Request Stop Button.
It won’t drop you off there and then, but at the first available flight master.
Have you tested it?
I tried using the button during TB > Org to stop at Camp Taurajo, but I flew all the way to Org anyway.
I tried it again doing the reverse journey, but logged out instead of using the button. When I logged back in I still flew all the way from Org > TB without stopping.
Full disclosure; No. I haven’t tested it yet in classic.
I have used it plenty of times in modern WoW, but I kind of assumed it worked fine in classic as well judging by the replies above.
If you have the Taurajo FP discovered, your issue is weird indeed.
Actullay flight points weren’t even connected, you had to talk to a flightmaster, arrive at first destination, talk to the flightmaster there, select the next destination, etc so there was no need for a “stop” or relog, so this is a change.
It’s funny how you can accept some workarounds as “no changes” but others are game breaking changes.
You could stop flight in vanilla by relogging.
It was very early vanilla. They were connected in 1.12.
