I just asked my Magic 8 Ball, it said ā€œOutlook goodā€, I think it’s sponsored by Microsoft now.

Why do you want a fresh one?
If you want to start from zero again, you can just delete your characters.

Genuine question.

They did answer that during Q&A and they aren’t a fan of launching Fresh just for the sake of Fresh and having a temporary playerbase there at launch and then most move back to Era or just quit as usual.

If you are ā€œbehindā€ on Era you will be ā€œbehindā€ on Fresh anyways while people will have fun in SoD, Era, WoTLK/Cata, and Retail depending on which versions they like. If none of these versions fit your needs then just unsubscribe, nobody cares.

Blizz will only do a fresh realm when then intend to reset classic, i.e progressive realms that go through all patches and expansions up to and including wrath.

It’s 100% inevitable they will do this one day, and I’m actually starting to suspect they are planning to do so already because they won’t offer us any era realms for TBC or Wrath. Fans of those expansions will jump at the chance to re-live the progression.

For the recond I’m not saying they’ll do this the next year or even next 3 years but once the zergbase chews up cata and makes ready for MoP a significant portion of the playerbase will start to miss the older expansions again.

Face it: classic with how it’s going now has an expiration date. SL Classic? Don’t make me laugh. With the speed we’re doing these expansions we’re getting there sooner than later. In a few years people will jump for a classic 2019 reset.

Atm we’re doing little less than 1.5 years per expansion. In less time than we already had classic we’re gonna be in WoD. Yeah.

Personally I can’t see how there won’t be a ā€œfreshā€ at some point. It will happen eventually but as we all know they are invested in other ā€˜projects’ at the moment.

I think the main thing to think about is what Chris Metzen said at Blizzcon reference to the 20 years. I think it was something along the lines of ā€œ20 years of wow, here’s to another 20 moreā€. WoW (and therefor classic) will be around for a long time and from the reveal of SoD it shows that Blizzard are every bit invested in Classic alongside Retail. So, take that ā€œanother 20 years moreā€ as Classic has a long future. Does that future mean ā€œfreshā€ at some point? highly likely.
