No, it’s not normal. It was not in the game yet during toc. If you want more gibs for less activity, there are other game versions available.
We do not know when or if we will get it. I’d rather we didn’t.
Oh I see a fan of pirivate realms here. Originally RDF ws added in detsember 2009 with 3.3.0. ICC patch 1 year and 2 months into Wrath expansion. We are not there yet.
Yeah, and being a UI feature and not a dungeon or raid instance, it should have been added in Wrath Classic prepatch, just like other UI and QoL features.

I see no reason to not have dungeon finder in icc patch it has achievements linked to it with a pet reward at the end , daily dungeon gets moved to the rdf window and we have a weekly raid objective so we can relive killing p1 bosses that people already forgot about its part of the original wotlk experience and people against it can go play the other version of the game without it
Except it is not simple UI feature that let’s you manually pick up groups, but a change to whole process of forming party. I don’t argue that current model has gatekeeping (depends on party leader really), but once RDF would be implemented 5ppl portion of what made WoW and MMO would be gone.
I really enjoyed MoP challenge mode s that made 5ppl content… well challenging again, because what RDF did with instances was nerfing them to the oblivion because random groups are unable to clear em, just like it happened at the start of original Cata.
I wish they would never add LFR to Cata Classic, however it will be done as 2023 devs a doomed to repeat all the mistakes of 2010s developers.

Organized groups would entirely skip certain bosses and dungeons in Cataclysm. Cause it was grossly overtuned and left like that for a month while the devs went on christmas break.
If you want to go this way, then we should have gotten it at the start of Classic in 2019, since we already had the Legion UI.
In Wrath Classic+ in 2022.
Right, but your claim that RDF wasn’t in the game at this point in the past is a whole other argument entirely.
And the current LFG wasn’t in originally either. This is not Wrath of the Lich King as it was back then, and it is not Wrath of the Lich King as it was on private servers. It is essentially a new Wrath of the Lich King Classic+, where some “Classic spirit-oriented” features (like the current LFG tool) replace the old features (like RDF). If they keep up with replacing some key retail features in future Classic expansions we might get a game that is completely different to retail in the end.
Of course, they might also ruin it like they are doing by adding tokens, so who knows. Gotta wait and see what’s going to happen.

Possibly, but generally the ui features were added at the start of their expansion of origin in classic. Also while the dungeon style and feel in Vanilla Classic would by significantly disrupted by RDF, I am very open to the argument that it should have been added with the introduction of heroics in TBC. You said yourself in another thread that the chat window was literally unusable because it was used as a de facto shared database for bulletin board addon. In my opinion RDF would have vastly improved TBC experience.

We didn’t have HC++ in wotlk at all, it’s a new Classic-original feature. Coupled with the LFG tool it makes RDF not needed, since it already gives more rewards by going through more difficult content (which is perfectly natural and makes sense), rather than easier content like RDF did.
Thats exactly my point, so saying we shouldn’t get RDF because it wasn’t in the OG wotlk makes no sense.
That’s debatable. Dungeons on lower levels are struggling for instance, or even normal dungeons on higher levels.
You could still have RDF for normal and “normal” heroic and also have the hc+(+) with LFG at the same time.
Lets be real, the reason they removed RDF was because of social “problems”. But people dont speak more in hc++ than they would in a normal/heroic RDF group.

Cause we’re not back then. And we’ve gotten every single other quality of life change in the prepatches (well, aside from the quest helper that they promised was coming lmao).

I do not find TBC heroic being super hard, just something was a bit annoying like BF 2nd boss, yet totally beatable.
Wrath heroics we always a joke compared to TBC and Cata and it was not overtunement, but rather lazy ess of PUGs in RDF who got used being carried by people in raiding gear. With Cata release everyone was almost on same gear level and suddenly PUGs couldn’t do heroics anymore as they lacked CC and other buffs/debuff or coordination, because all of them were undergeared, low skilled and thinking heroics would be piece of cake and someone would certainly carry em as always. The tuning devastated Cata heroics that supposed to be TBC like, since normal players got tired of Wrath face rolling for badges, but Blizzard nerfed 5ppl content back to state it had been in Wrath.
