If the Horde were to get a Warchief again, you can bet it would be Thrall. Else the council it is. And the council is pretty much Blizzard’s way of saying “factions don’t really matter right now”.
The council is a wet joke. It doesn’t even matter what they decide because you can bet most decisions will be made by Baine and Thrall since they are the frontmen for the whole faction. That system failed the minute it was implemented.
Do you realize that “fighting to the death” idea of choosing a leader is not working for a “peaceful, shamanistic society”?
Choosing Garrosh could have been one of their best ideas. And how they built him with the splintertree and stonetalon quests. A real orc, proud, supreme warrior, but onest and sometimes merciful. But then they messed up the Alliance part of expansion, and they wrote themselves to a corner. (and the subs drop was next) And they weren’t able to come with a better idea than sacrifice him in that mess that was SoO.
No idea what you read from my quote to result to this, but okay, thanks for telling me what I already know. Thumbsup.
I still recount that they debunked these actions as directly non-canon. Or rather, not reflective of the character.
No such thing as development by softening one’s harsh temperament with logical thinking. Could’ve easily wrote the whole Stonetalon thing being what led Garrosh to do what he did because he knew he couldn’t afford to push the Night Elves’ buttons even further as it is, for one.
shruuuuuuug
If BFA taught us anything is that a victory in WoW doesn’t mean jack.
The better question is “When will Blizzard stop villain batting and humiliating the Horde?”
The thought of Sylvanas being trialed for crimes after Garrosh makes me vomit and never open this game again. I legit believe that whoever cares about the Horde lore now is plain masochistic.
I was meaning there is a problem with the way Horde was “made” in WC1. Horde was designed as a “rawr, rawr, smash” type of society. You cannot make a “peaceful society” without destroying it.
I know that they tried to patch up the mess they made. But I remember that during Cata, they didn’t say “oops, we messed”. They were proud of their “savege but just” Garrosh.
Christie Golden is alliance biased for sure. Blizzard just seems to hate the Horde alot. And there is nothing we can do about it.
There cannot be a “war victory” for Horde. Only for Alliance. Because Alliance forgives and Horde obliterates.
Don’t think there is much to add to this thread, but regarding this bit:
The system only fails if writers will it to.
It follows on most of the same principles as any monarchy. With the only difference being that the Warchief often relies on the “merit” of at least being powerful, commanding, strong, or all of the above.
Kings only need to be born in a certain family.
If that has to stop Horde needs to get a Military Victory.
Not Horde members, but there is a Goblin in charge of at least some part of the SI7 and the Wrynn cheerleader Belf is well… more Alliance I would say.
Renzik “The Shiv” is a Goblin in the service of the SI:7
Valeera Sanguinar is a popular bloodelf who is the personal spy of the alliance’s high king. Yet there are no alliance races among Horde populaces.
As promised back on the German forum
