When you're not at events, where do you congregate for roleplay? Where do you find your new members for your guilds?

I don’t see much posted yet in regards to the night elf scene, so in regards to kaldorei roleplay: night elves have a habit of flocking to wherever the next big thing is. That’s Ashenvale currently, because of the Ashenvale Autumn initiative, and will probably shift to Feralas when the Monsoon War server campaign starts. Amirdrassil generally isn’t that popular due to phasing issues.

I’m generally not a very big fan of server discords due to the nature of them, but the Amirdrassil discord is also a good shot at finding night elf roleplay. There’s a channel there that’s used to announce night elf-themed events and a channel to spark more casual roleplay in. Also plugging Acrona’s night elf roleplay thread, because it has a neat oversight of guilds, events and discords.

Can’t speak to every guild out there, but the ones I’ve been in have nearly always just recruited in the big two: Org and Stormwind.

The results, both in terms of successful recruitment and in quality of rpers, have varied. In a -tremendous- irony… Stormwinds usually had the better rpers join. ducks

Ehhh. I think the quality is roughly on par if you go from individual to individual, but because Stormwind is usually big enough to where you can ignore the bad*. Orgrimmar never has that many people so the worse stick out and kinda skew the average down if that makes sense.

*Bad by my standards, which is just basically trolling, or being deliberately disruptive, or are actually just RPing out really heinous things. I don’t think new RPers are ‘bad’, to be clear.

Just don’t go to goldshire… Just don’t…

Think I’ve said this before but back when I first started RPing on AD, Goldshire was the first place I headed to because it was where most people hung out on PvP/PvE realms.

I wouldn’t ever reccomend anyone to do the same.

Do you know what’s crazy? Back in my day. The good ol’ days Goldshire used to actually be a HUB for GOOD RP.

Back in them days there wasn’t so much rife deviants. It was just everyone living the simplistic lower-fantasy RP. Just chilling around Goldshire waiting on some mission or quest to help the local guards and what not.

I never knew what happened to the Hub of Goldshire back then. I had already moved to Horde fully and created Felentrick. Though, Goldshire being a hub for decent RP was on a different realm and a different time… :older_man:

We wish ._.

There’s that Netflix(?) Documentary that’s coming out about an RPer who passed away and I’m fairly certain that they and their guild were centered around Goldshire at that time if I’m remembering he BBC article written a few years ago correctly, and even then somebody quoted it as being “much nicer back then than it is now”, or something to that effect.

In terms of timeline I think that was maybe back in WoTLK? I’m not 100% sure, but it’s honestly quite a shame how it (d)evolved.

Yeah the guy was on the US servers. Bless his soul.

Never thought they’d make a documentary about a WoW RP’er and it’s crazy to see though his story is inspiring.

Goldshire became the spot that we know today back maybe around MoP if I’m honest.

Then the leak to Silvermoon came around WoD iirc.

What you can probably get from this thread is that human civilization has completely failed and crumbled under its own weight. Join the Horde.

RIP to that human player though.

The fallout from the testosterone-induced fever dream that was the Cata-WoD era instantly emasculated the weaker links of the playerbase, condemning them to a life of hedonism and overindulgence.

I used to find guilds by just going to RP hubs and finding people i liked to roleplay with. I tried that again this time after quitting for 2 years and its much more difficult now I think.

Good evening Sir! I see you do not don a tabard!
