Having spent a lot of time on the battlefield recently, and can honestly say I haven’t come against a gnome rogue or a dwarf rogue and rarely see a night elf rogue. The same can be said of mages, Hardly see gnome mages and they were popular in Classic and TBC.
In fact 85% of alliance now consist of humans. The horde still have a decent mix of races.
Is this all because of will to survive?
Dwarf rogue and dk is bis,stoneform the nasty feral bleeds.
Those who plays human only for the free trinket is tryhard and clueless.

Rogue is by far the least played class on fresh servers.
Well that’s a good thing. Rogues are disgusting.
I played dwarf rogue for a while but I just didn’t like it.
Ugly, uselss abilities
rogues are nowhere near as bad in wotlk
human is still better. nothing can beat double pve trinkets
Cloak of Shadow is still as overpowered as back in TBC. That skill is just nasty.
Actually according to the only data we have (and it’s shaky at best) Priest is still the lowest but not by much. Priest, hunter, rogue and warlock are pretty level +/-1% at the bottom then everyone else later way higher.
That being said I still often wonder why we even have that many priests tbh 
no its not casters have way more defensives now than they did in tbc.
plus rogues are, in general, way more squisher because they opt for majority pve gear otherwise they do no damage
I’m not on Jin’do, but on Thekal and Giantstalker Rogue is the least played class, followed by Priest (although that changed on Giantstalker, where Shamans are now lower than Priests). For Alliance Shamans were quite low too, so it might be Rogue < Shaman < Priest now, but those are in general the three least played classes.
According to wowclassicpop Thekal has 9% rogues with Priest and Shaman at 7% on the lowest.
That’s about the only data we have… everything else is subjective.
I wouldn’t say my Census data is subjective, but whatever. It might vary slightly on PvE realms.
But no Alliance race can match a dwarf’s style, no matter the class.
