In summer one of the Devs in interview have confirmed that Alliance have won on both Warfronts. But it wasn’t shown in game.
There was one cut scene datamined 2 years ago
-but it was not added to the life because its forbidden in Blizzard company to show Alliance victories, especially Night Elves victories.
So, should we count some words as Lore?
Ok, anyway we have a new book where it stated that Stromgarde is now fully under Allance control, and Horde troops are leaving that place. But what actually have happened there? Did Horde leaders died there on Warfront? Did Horde fortress burned down?
Same thing for Darkshores. We know that Sira did not die. But when was the moment when she have run away from Darkshores? When was the moment when Night Elves really won? Before or after Orgrimmar?
Knowing that Shandris was on the Darkshores Warfront, and later she was also fighting against Azshara, I assume that Night Elves have won the battle on Darkshores before that. But in that case why Tyrande did not came to Orgrimmar?
Its just needed more crowd and more clapping and WooHooo sounds on the back ground.
Wowhead once posted that this cutscene was available doe to a quest. But later it was gone. Maybe its just a bug and Blizzard don’t want to fix it.
Like that bug when Alliance forces on the Warfront choose to attack using sea road. Army just hit invisible wall and dissapear.
That mega ugly bug that brakes battle mechanic was there for 2 years. I have send 100500 bug reports about that to Blizzard. And now Addon is over with that bug still active…
DarkShores supposed to be the place where Night Elves rebeliated. And it had so many bugs, such wet development.
It seams that Blizzard just don’t care about Night Elves. All the places where Night Elves win, is less important than everything else, and can be left with bugs.
The cutscene is still more than the Night Elves would’ve ever gotten, sadly they only get low quality ingame cutscenes like this one, but even then sometimes it doesn’t make it to live.
Well… look at the Lordaeron intro cinematics where Saurfang looks like he got a stroke or something.
For some reason we have 2 cinematic teams.
One who does stuff like Terrors of Darkshore which was awesome.
And one who does thing slik … that.
I mean I don’t even mind the quality … the whole cutscene was cringy as hell.
I know that wowhead posted it I tried to unlock it ingame at exactly that hour but it didn’t work on European servers.
And the reward, the Owl pet is a drop from one of the rares in darkshore.
So it seems that it was scraped pretty early somewhere I can just assume because Blizzard seemed to have stoped developing BFA content at some point (Missing Warfronst silvermoon and barrens) and thus story arcs or so have been changed.
I can just imagine that this cutscene would have led to Tyrande being involved in other fights afterwards but since they never happend and they went with the sad excuse of 8.3, thing sprobably got just rushed out and axed like WoD.
Which is why the whole BFA conclusion is as stupid and unfitting as the WoD one. They just axed everything and tried to glue the rest togather to have a somewhat coherent story
I think the whole BfA was such a mix of bits that were made at different time, that the dev team simply wanted to move on as quickly as possible. We’ll see how they approach Shadowlands, and that might give us some ideas about how the game is going to evolve it terms of the narration.
Well Metzen said somewhere he was working on the BFA intro in 20016 or so?
And was then surprised about the burning of Teldrassil.
So BFA was appearently meant to be completely differently. So the whole expansion somehow was mixed around and redone with stuff being cut or rewritten…
Which explains why nothing in that whole expansion makes even remotely sense. It is all so disconnected from everything. From the lore, from the fanbase …
The whole Nightwarrior and 8.1 stuff seems to be rushed in an I might remember that they said it was meant to be content for 8.2 or 8.3 but was rushed out because of how extremly bad the players reacted onto the intro for BFA and that after the burning the whole expansion was like as if nothing ever happened.
Then they rushed out 8.1 to say “ahh here there is still that story arc we haven’t forgotten” and … then tehy forgot about it afterwards.
My theory is:
Darkshore was meant to happen in a later patch where Nathanos was indeed supposed to die.
BUT since they had to rush it out before but still needed Nathanos for the content beyond, they had him to survive which led of course to even more anger from the NE fans.
This is probably why we kill him off in the prepatch.
Did you play the story?
The narrative stated that the Alliance was winning on all fronts.
The Saurfang cinematic shows how disapointed Anduin is about how few soldirs Saurfang could muster “So few” and then answered that he can provide enough soldirs for one final attack. Which means enough to fully siege Orgrimmar but with no backups left.
So the Alliance was able to march onto Orgrimmar without Saurfang. The mission tables even state that.
doesn’t matter what he says. He just wated him to be there, he could have done alone. Easyly.
Horde didn’t contribute much to that. Anduin needed Saurfang as cannon fodder. Which he did very well.
Sounds like one sided alliance propaganda to me. It doesn’t deserve any attention you are just making stuff up to make the Alliance look better then they deserve.
It is a norm not having ingame evidence of victories in WoW. That does require zone revamp etc. With BFA bronze dragons changing the zone timeline its easier but not nessesary.
Nothing to make big fuss about. Sira situation has been detailed in Shadows Rising and also Stormgarde has its civilians fleeing and in new book - as you said - it has fallen to full Alliance control.
There cannot/hasn’t be(en) every new change reflected in game in WoW. It has nothing to do with Alliance or Night Elves.
Let’s see what happens after SL if Azeroth is main focus again.
I am pretty certain that we will see some side stories in Azeroth in SL pacth 9.1 and 9.2.
Which might even take on that issue somehow.
I mean we still have severall heritage questlines still open for example.
Yep, Night Elves and Draenei are only one who left. Ion told that they are looking for a new home for Night Elves, but Shadowlans are not the time to add such content.
So, maybe we will have heritage armor quest where we will help to gather supplies for a new capital city. And after Shadowlands we will see the results of it.
Or maybe it will be more Elune based. For example we will finally find out that it was Elune who actually have created us. And we will get some moon priestess like gear.
So we have 3 racecombs:
Humans/Orcs
Draenei/Trolls
Nightelves/Forsaken
Trolls will probably get theirs with Voljin rebirth or so.
Draenei … no idea
Forsaken adn Nightelves probably … with 9.3 ? Planting the seed for new Teldrassil or so. So it will be grown with 10.0 or so. also the Nightwarrior questline should be done by that time also.
Could see that happen.
I still hope for that sentinel armor we have ingame allready … Just have it more 3d ornaments and be done with it.
You are forgetting about pandaren. My guess is the remaining heritages will go in this order: Draenei + Troll -> Pandaren -> Human + Orc -> Night Elf + Forsaken.
False, Night Elves won’t get a heritage armor. They are extinct and have nothing left anyway, so no need for it. Plus Blizzard wouldn’t want to put any effort into the race
