Sorry about this - I have read quite a few threads and I admit to not quite understanding still.
At the end of Naxx I remember paying for my character to be cloned - I understood that would allow him to ‘live for ever’ as the T3 warrior he was
I then created a Warlock and raided to 70 and pressed shadowbolt over and over again
My warrior was left alone - until the of TBC when I picked him up and leveled him with his T3 and dps gear - he got to 67, then along came a new job and WOTLK and I thought ‘I dont have the time to raid like I did in Naxx and TBC’
Recently hardcore has made me wonder - what happened to that beautiful level 60 warrior with full Naxx gear I cloned (not the 67 wandering around in Nagrand …). But I cant find a server (I thought they were called ‘Era servers’) with the cloned warrior I paid for.
I can see lots of other posts about how clones ‘progressed’ - but I cant see where that happened - ie because my original character is where I left him - progresed to 67.
Any help / guidance appreciated; have I fallen into exactly the trap that many have - what did I actually pay for when I cloned my warrior?
If you did indeed pay for a clone, then your character should be on one of the Era servers.
To get there:
Start WoW
Change Realm
Pick the Classic Era tab
Make sure realms are ordered by Characters (click the Character column until the arrow is pointing Down) - this should show the realms where you have most characters in top.
Thank you - I thought that was the case … but no characters at all on any Classic Era realms. I was sure I paid for the clone, but I never did check. I will make a petition and see what happens. Cheers for the quick reply
Just remember, if you never logged into it on Classic Era then the realm will look empty on the realm list. You need to log into the right realm to see it.
If you check like Xenera says then it will be there.
I am afraid I didn’t buy the cloning service, I checked back to June 2022 and there is no charge for a cloning service - so I must have made the decision to not purchase. I am cross with myself as I was sure I had done - but there is no transaction.
What a shame … user error / old age is all I can think of.
We usually get them from Curseforge, if you use their client they will also automatically unpack in the right folder and keep things up to date if you wish.
