Where is he? He wasn’t at the feast after the defeat of the Legion. Now we’re getting (spoilers) a gathering of the Horde leadership in 8.1.5 and he’s nowhere to be seen.
We have the Banshee Prince himself, Mayla, Garona, Thalyssra, Talanji, Rokhan, Geya’rah, Baine, Thomas Zellig, Lor’themar, Gallywix, a sitting troll that I can’t identify, Eitrigg, Lillian Voss and Rexxar.
Where is Ji?
Is he back at Orgrimmar running the Horde considering that every other leader is on Kul Tiras?
He took up drinking after his Garrosh-experiences and overselept, surrounded by cheap pandaren brew.
One explanation is as good as any, Blizzard just doesn’t seem to care. If you want to be charitable you could claim he was off looking at the situation with the new mantid queen, or something.
He is taking his time to appear because he vowed to punch every kind of dinosaur but hasn’t been able to find a ladder tall enough to reach a Brutosaur face.
Who?
Oh yes, that Pandaren who has been useless to the story since his arc in Pandaria was finished.
Don’t expect to see much from him, I doubt the writers even remembered he existed.
Ji seriously needs to make a return here. It’s bad enough that he and Aysa have been in character limbo ever since the ending of Mists, but considering his history with the rebellion it beggars belief that he wouldn’t be part of the meeting, and that he wouldn’t have very strong thoughts on the matter. I can definitely see him siding with Baine after all that happened during Garrosh’s reign.
He doesn’t need to do important stuff that we can see, but there’s a meeting of the Horde leaders and he’s nowhere to be seen. There are leaders off all playable Horde races, old ones as well as new allied ones.
It’s really a shame. It seems that Blizz try to avoid Pandaren as good as possible cause they said by themselves that it was a bad to make them neutral.
It could be that both horde and alliance might be wary of the Pandaren liasons. Both of them may be rivals from two different schools, but they are not enemies and thus it might be risky to allows Ji and Aysa to participate too much into the war plans.
At least this is how I RP the pandaren situation. Allowing the pandaren lisasons too much insight about the inner workings of the horde or alliance may be prone to information leaks. I mean if Ji knew everything Sylvanas tells the other leaders, he whould most likely defect and join the alliance togheter with Aysa. Bringing all the confidential information with him.
Blizzard forgot that he exists. He is an irrelevant meme character who wants to “punch dinosaurs”. That’s it. That’s probably the end of this character’s story. The expression of a desire to harm innocent animals.
Maybe you need to look for him a bit more.
I thought the same about Aysa cloudsinger, but then I had a classical disengage accident when I was bored in Boralus and suddenly I found her on the Alliance ship’s bow, where she was hiding because of her Panda insecurities.

So I started using this new and trendy thing called google and I found this:
