I got into classic a month ago. Im a very casual player that never played classic and never enjoyed retail
I really like classic and lvld abit on Spineshatter but now I find out the bots are a major issue…
I tried lvling some other classes to try them and I found tons of bots lurking around sometimes randomly killing monsters making even low lvl zones unfun
Also, I read how difficult it is to farm herb mats or how easly they can ban you if you are hurting their business . And How AH prices went too high forcing ppl to spend real life money on gold.
I’m already paying a sub fee. No way I’m buying gold.
I am thinking maybe I should try other realm like Thunderstrike.
Other server like ERA or SOD or Cata
Or just quit until something change this situation
Im casuall. Dont have alot of spare time. I enjoy classic alot but also I respect my time.
So I dont like the idea that I’m playing in a such bad enviorment
Any tips on other realms/servers to try?
Blizzard will never do a good job at combating the bots. It would just cost too much money to put measures in place, that would really put a stop to it.
I´d assume the normal realms are flooded with bots whereas the hardcore realms probably got them too but in lesser numbers.
Sadly true
I am thinking about switching to SOD from Anniversary
Feels like Spineshatter is a mess.

Sod same thing. I would argue sod is worse with gs requirements and classes that 1 shoots you in pvp
Moving to SOD aint gonna help. There are tons of bots. Like i said, you can expect the least amount of bots on the hardcore realms. People are usually friendlier too.

Hardcore or Era PvE ervers are the most ot-free ones.

Classic era means it’s base vanilla game with no going to expansions right?
No other changes just most basic vanilla experience.
And hardcore realms means that if I die my character get’s deleted?
No good options I guess
Maybe a PVE realm in Anniversary
Sad to hear that SOD is worse ;/
If you want progressive servers AKA Anniversary and no HC, then yes PvE is the better (still not good) choice.
meh
id actually enjoy hardcore if the solution to every problem isnt petrification & leave group or hearthstone out of the raid before you get bonked. it’s the wow equivalent of being wealthy because you were born wealthy.
i wanna see actual plays not people abusing stupid systems otherwise i may aswell just resort to the same cowardly tactics but then im kind of a silent hero that is just putting himself at a major disadvantage.

The whole petri flask itself is not a problem. Why should you not utilize an ingame mechanic to save your toon if possible? The alt f4 dc thing is what needs to get removed.
Losing a lvl 60 is really tough and why not try and save all the time you put into it?
I recently lost my lvl 60 warrior in WPL due to being a bit overzealous and a pretri would have saved me, but i was too cheap to spent the money.
Needless to say that I was devastated^^
You can play on hardcore anniversary and if you should die, you can transfer your toon to thunderstrike (pve anniv) for free.
because it’s a cheat code that has no place in a game mode where the whole point is to not make mistakes… petri erases those mistakes and dilutes the whole purpose of having good game sense. why should you be able to do that just because grinded some herbs safely and anyone who doesn’t do that is at a comical disadvantage? 99% of the deaths that are avoided by this janky item can be avoided by actually being somewhat competent at the game. its there purely to keep streamers advertising the game and not to keep the game mode interesting or consistent

Really? If this is a thing id might do it and worst case move myself to thunderstrike

It´s not a cheat code. It´s an item available in the game. You can purchase it or craft it yourself.
Humans are not machines. Everyone makes mistakes and is not cautious enough eventually.
It´s also a way to safe yourself if your party/raid members make a fatal mistake.
You can just stick to not using the thing.

yes but that’s the game mode… most mistakes wont lead to you dying unless someone majorly effed up. repeatedly. over and over again. if someone causes a wipe in a group environment then you should be prepared to deal with that. wth is the point if you just press a ‘i win’ button and port away to safety like some fairy?
me and my friend are long time players of wow, we spent some time in hardcore. one time we ended up pulling like 14 trolls in the troll cave in dun morogh because of a bug with mob pathing but we managed to escape the clutches of death multiple times dropping below 5% hp on several occasions. between the good management of my mana as a priest, and kiting, and my friend making sure the cluster of mobs weren’t constantly hitting me we managed to slay a bunch of them before we realized we had to escape and break our way through hundreds of mobs back to the exit with barely any hp and oom. we survived and it was fun. most of hardcore at endgame isnt like that though. your skill or knowledge of the game doesn’t matter the only thing that matters if you’re repulsive enough to press the i win button at the expense of everyone else in your group who doesn’t have it. no thanks. hardcore is trash and not hardcore at all.

makgora is yet another joke in hardcore. literally a feature that is supposed to be fight to the death can be avoided by simply logging out or running out of range from the flag. what a joke.

Cool story. You not playing hardcore is certainly a win for the community.
true, because you get to live in your anti-hardcore p2w bubble where you get to keep huffing that dopamine rush lol
Without petri the whole 60 level game would not exist on hardcore. You might not like it, but that’s the only thing that makes the game available after level cap.
thats pure speculation and doesn’t negate what i said either
theres an interesting phenomenon where people will play whatever is available to them simply because it is there. doesnt matter if it is objectively good or bad. if it’s scarce people will play it. great business model to build a product around.
