Which one is the best range dps class for pve?

Im a new player(never played wow). I like to play with a range dps class for pve(for fun).
Is a destro warlock good for that or an mm hunter is better?

mm hunter
balance druid

take your pick.

I’d say either BM Hunter or MM Hunter, I find BM has a smoother rotation, whereas MM can feel clunky.

Also heard Fire Mage is good at later levels, tho not got there yet :slight_smile:

Destro has been ranked at #20 of 24 on the dps charts for the raid for quite some time now.

I love playing destro (this toon), but no, we’re not good dps wise. Fun to play, though :slight_smile:

There is no single “best ranged”, if there were then you’d only have 1 viable ranged spec.

Fire Mage
Aff Lock
MM Hunter
Boomie

Those are the better ranged specs currently.

That could change at a moments notice. Especially with 9.1 in probably a few months time. Don’t put all your eggs into one basket, eg MM purely for the numbers when it could be garbage by the time you’re geared up and ready to push harder content.

If you enjoy both Destro and MM equally then I’d say go MM but your Covenant pick is important. Venthyr is garbage for hunters. Necro isn’t that great either.

Went on looking, and on the one at wowhead, we’re suddenly at #8, to my HUGE surprise. Only a few hours old, though, this new list on their site.

Idk i like the hunter cuz have a pet and i can shoot when i move :smiley:

If moving while attacking/casting is important to you, avoid any warlock specs like the plague. We can barely do anything while moving.

Easy choice is bm hunter
Like spellcasting fire/frost feel better
Destro is decent still a lot of movement will destroy your dps (raiding wise)

Pet lvl is corelated to your lvl , u got 60 he will have 60 , no matter what pet u can tame he will be your lvl .

I’ve met destro locks that are miles better than most fire mages.
Play what you find smooth and fun to play, and think about the type of content that you want to do.
Super hard content (mythic raids and M+ keys above +15) will need good classes. Everything below can be done with any class.

Please do not listen to forum regulars telling you “you can’t play destro it’s number 20 on the charts” because that is meaningless to a new player. They forgot to read the part where you’re new. If you like destro, play destro. :slight_smile:

Play what you want, the “best” and “worst” specs can change at the drop of a hat with balance changes from blizzard and major patches giving the biggest shifts. I’d take a player who can play a spec to it’s full potential anyday over your average joe who plays MM because it’s the flavour of the month but is crap at it.
