Hi all,
I, a returning player after hearing that people are starting to play hardcore classic. I was just wondering which realm is this on? Is it WotLK classic, Vanilla Classic or TBC Classic?
Personally, I’d love to experience vanilla - DF as hardcore but, I’m sure that’s not going to happen. 
Just downloading the game now.
I believe this to be WoW Classic, however WoW Hardcore is not released yet.
There are however players playing on unofficial PVE-RP realms with addons currently.
This one I think. “Classic era”. Server is “Hydraxian waterlords”. I know I hated on addons, but there is one “required” addon called “hardcore”. Apparently there is going to be an official hardcore server very soon though.
Thank you. Yes, I loath addons with a passion. I much prefer to play without any addons. It’s funny that I see YouTubers suggesting certain addons…… surely it isn’t hardcore if you’ve got them installed?..… 
The addons ensure that every self-declared “hardcore” player plays by the same rules. Such as no trading, no use of AH, and upon death, a confirmed death announcement to everyone using the same addon.
Honestly, just wait for official release and use any or no addons at all.
Well, the “addon” hardcore just “ensures”, that you follow their rules I think. That’s all. Honestly, I’d just play on the full servers normally and wait for the official hardcore servers like most other people seemingly

What is the addon called please?
It does make me wonder how we get ruined rods for enchanting then. I guess everyone is forced down the alchemy or engineering route?
Classic Era & Wrath both are using the hardcore addon, so pick what you’d enjoy more really.
Hydraxian waterlords seems to be the popular pick for hardcore on both.

Just creating my characters now…. So expect me to be logging in in several weeks time when I’ve chosen my character design. 
Another question, if I may. Is this an ally or horde server? Or doesn’t it matter?
I’m currently unsure which to choose but I’ve not played ally much and have always been horde
It doesn’t matter, just pick what you want to play and have fun!
But in my experience, I always have been Horde but for Classics I chose to be Alliance, and I can tell you, I really missed a ton of content honestly and got a different story when I played Ally.
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
Might choose ally now but horde when we get HC proper.
Edit: Well that was short lived. Dc’d and died as a result. Level 7….
You can appeal the death if it was DC. Unofficial add-on allows that.
The official hardcore servers will not enforce any rules like no trading and no mail. The only rule will be once you die you cannot play on hardcore anymore but can transfer to Era and continue playing there. Appeals most likely won’t be possible.
I guess some players will continue using the add-on on official hardcore servers to follow the community restrictions.
I am not a big fan of add-ons so waiting on official servers to try and see how far I can get.
Also I recommend clicking the pencil next to the topic title and moving the topic to the dedicated Classic forum.
