Which WoW zone represent which geo. zone on Earth?

I was inspired from another thread in here.
(dunno if you can understand my bad english)

Boralus - England = all the ships and the rainy weather.
Gilneas - Scotland = with the sheeps and the high cliffs by the sea
Pandaria - China = pandas and chinese buildings

the other zones are for you to guess.

Some of them are multy-national.

Westfall - reminds me of my Bulgaria - September, during a harvest time.

I had some nice ideas - like a lot of you reading this, but remember theres a thin line between jokes and racism and so i will not risk it.

Its not about racism, its about how the zones looks.

Stranglethorn Vale - Maybe Brazil - the jungle and the beaches.

Pretty sure Gilneans were intended to be British folks, with the gothic theme, the failed accent and the rainy setting.

Yeah, its UK themed, just like Boralus. But Gilneas should be more scottish with all these sheeps all around and the cliffy beaches.

Southern England is like that too.

Dunno why, but Silvermoon looks russian to me. With all these elves. Maybe Russia in autumn. BEs models looks like russians to me.

Wow zones are inspired by geographical regions and not by countries.

And historical eras too.

Y’all are kinda misattributing the British ones;
Gilneas is Victorian Era England
Kul Tiras represents more the South-West of England (trust me I live there)
Stormwind and the zones around it are more generic European medieval.

And fashion too.
Goths were Germans raiding Rome, and term Gothic later was used as architectural direction in middle ages France.

Gilneas struck me as Victorian London.

Get gabbin or get going.

Arthai Highlands seems to be Scottish themed. Espically those raptors up their.

Night elven areas are based in Japanese, I think?

I studied about cultures briefly in my High school years

Stormwind: Medieval Europe

Gilneas: Victorian England/ Gothy elements

Kul Tiras: looks like Britain but during a different time period.

Edit: it appears to be Southwestern Britain.

Telogrus: Goth/edgy

Trisfal Glades : medieval with a zombie twist

Mulgore: Native American

Silvermoon: Middle Eastern/ Elvish

(And yes Elvish is a common culture)

Darnassus: Ancient Greek/ East Asian

Pandaria: East Asian

Suramar: Italy (mostly get this vibe from the boat things), but also Mediterranean in general.

Vulpera: North African Sahara

Zandalar: Aztec

Stranglethorn: Amazon

Ahn Qiraj: Ancient Egypt

Dwarves: Celtic, Scottish, maybe Irish too.

Echo isles: Caribbean, Polynesian, African

Highmountain: Natives of Canada

Kezan: Polynesia with Oil companies and Machinery

Azuremyst I get East European/ India vibes.

Which country is that ? :joy:

It’s South Western Britain! With all the farming and the seaside towns and cities and the seagulls.

No country. But there is a Edgy vibe/ culture in a way. I’m kinda edgy myself  my favorite character is Marceline the Vampire Queen.

My condolences :pensive:

Tanaris is totally “Tatooine” from Star Wars = Tunisia - desert.

If it’s Sheep then it’s more like Wales, Scotland is more of a Goat place. Wales also has a lot of cliffy beaches (Scotland isn’t known for it’s beaches).
Gilneas itself is more Victorian London themed than anything else.

Tanaris reminds me of the Beaches on the western Welsh coast (lots of sand dunes there).

STV = my back garden.
