Tier 1 hunter is best. Change my mind. Honorable mention goes to tier 17 mythic.
Nah, the majority of mail sets do suck. it’s a pretty common opinion. Even on WoWhead/Reddit etc, whenever they release Mail sets, the majority of the top comments are the same thing “Blizzard is incapable of making good mail sets”.
There is a few outliers, but the majority of them are dogtier.

What you as an individual think is considered good-looking armors is your own opinion. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean that everyone don’t like it. The world wouldn’t work if everyone thinks the same.
Personally I like the mail armor as much as I like plate, they are my favorites. Although there aren’t that many mail armor sets in the game due to only two classes that can wear that armor type, compared to different armor types which more classes can wear, which I think is the only downside to mail armor.
Otherwise I think the actual models are really good looking and original. My favorites for hunters are:
- Tier 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 12, 19, 20.
- The recolor of tier 4 and 5 PvP sets from The Burning Crusade.
Shamans:
- Tier 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12.

Kyrian and Venthyr mail armor sets look pretty good in my opinion. Kyrian mail actually looks amazing!
But yeah, hunters have a lot of crappy pre-BfA class sets. Shamans definitely have much better options.
Now that I think about it, WoW has become very similar to The Sims, since Transmog was added to the game.
Mail sets except some shaman ones, t3 hunter, some green classic ones and Trial of Valor just really suck. It is especially sad for me, as I main hunter.
Mail looks a bit lacking overall in my opinion. Though like some other people have mentioned, I do agree that it looks somewhat better on shamans than hunters. I am having difficulties to come up with a decent transmog for my hunter myself.
Maybe under barbarians, if swearing is the peak of ur culture i feel sorry for u

Agree, many mail armor are rly ugly, but there some truly, amazing ones. Like warfront mail set, tomb-antorus shaman sets, the chosen armor set, mop challange mode sets, also t5 shaman set. They are my favorites

awww, bless Clorinda and her offense at bleeped swearing! In my head I kept thinking of Glinda the Good Witch in Wizard of Oz.LOL (Personally Im from a part of the south of England where we love a good swear and the C word can be a term of endearment!) 
I dont think mail armor is that bad compared to other types though. I have way more trouble making a cloth, leather or plate set then a hunter set (maybe coz I have 18 max level hunters and spend way too much time going through my mog inventory!).
You’re doing it again, forcing your opinion onto me and saying my opinion on a hunter is wrong.
I did google it, and what google is showing me is pretty similar stuff to what I can make in game.
In fact when I google fantasy archer / ranger / hunter often WoW images of hunters are used.
Antorus tier is spot on to what a hunter could be. It is light, has animal parts and a off balanced shoulder.
Tomb of Sarg tier is a remake of an old one that is iconic to hunter and also makes use of animal parts, common in hunter fantasy.
If you’re going for the “hooded stalker” type of ranger then The Nighthold has some great sets (that perfectly fit elven archers too).
Warlords seasons 2 & 3 also has a good take on the hooded ranger.
I think you just lack imagination.
