The number of players who actually quit because of multi boxing, supposing this number is in fact greater than zero, will never be higher than the number of accounts owned by multi boxers.
So there is not point financially for Blizzard in banning multi boxing.
Yeah last night I got into a AV where one guy was multiboxing around 17 dks and 13 shamans at the same time, perhaps the most bizarre bg I’ve ever experienced, he had like 300hks, but alliance we’re still losing since horde had killed Belinda + burned two towers.
I guess it’s kind of hilarious that somebody would put so much effort just to farm hks incredibly slow in AV. But it absolutely disrupts and ruins the experience for everyone else.
However it is most definitely NOT in the spirit of the game and I think Blizzard should start looking at this action as gross harassment and also start being a lot more proactive on the subject.
Because for some reason people defended them for years and years. Usually complaint threads about multiboxers here and on reddit were filled with people telling everyone that multiboxing was a-okay.
It’s only been recently that people who hate play this game have started pointing to anything and everything to justify their clout-chasing hatred of blizzard.
Jesus Christ, will people ever stop whining about this? If one dude is multiboxing an epic bg hes not everywhere at once. Just go where he isn’t, do objectives and win.
Easy to fix. Add rules:
You are allowed to run maximum 5 wow client on one PC.
You are not allowed to use any thrid party programs to copy keymap and keyboard output.
Or a group of druids just farming mobs at insane rates in Nazmir. 1 press of the button results in 5x the loot, it’s incredible that blizzard still allows this.
If one person is Multiboxing 30 accounts they’re earning a minimum of £3128.40 a year in subscription fees from that one person alone. (based on the cost of a 6 month subscription)
If the Multiboxer is buying each month sub with gold then blizz are earning £6120.00 a year from people buying Tokens and then this Multiboxer buying them with gold.
If this one person bought the basic version of SL for each account that’s a further £1049.70.
This one person is responsible for between £4178.10 and £7169.70 worth of revenue in a year.
Why would Blizzard do anything to cap or reduce the amount that they can earn from individuals.
EDIT: I remembered you can buy games with Tokens, therefore this one person could be responsible for over £10k worth of revenue in a year.
I suppose the difference is if you’re using a bot, you’re not actually playing the game. You’re using 3rd party software to either hack or macro through the game whilst you go to work for 7 hours.
If you’re multiboxing, someone is sat their controlling the character on screen themselves.
I dunno, I’m not saying I condone Multiboxing. I can see why it would be annoying in PvP but I’ve never had any issues with them in PvE other than the occasional need to have quick fingers if they’re in an area that a Quest mob is.
