Well Pve is more anoying farming wise If 1 player can control 20 accounts and lets say gather a herb they gain 20 in 1 click while i a solo player only get 1 so they can sell more with less effort ruining gold making for the normal players and even if we want to pvp/kill them its impossiable.
I don’t believe the rules should be changed to banning multiboxing.
What needs to be changed is the banning of ALL 3rd party programs that allow simultaneous use of 2 or more characters.
Banning multiboxing would be extremely difficult to police and trying to identify just plain multiboxing would be hard. How would you tell ?
Identifying someone using some other software to control multiple toons is a lot easier but would require observation from a GM team that I believe just doesn’t have the resources to do that ATM.
There are cases where multiboxing isn’t disruptive to other players, I’ll sometimes log another toon in and park them at the AH for checking prices and availability. Or maybe put an alt with a different gathering prof on follow for mats I need for crafting.
What I don’t like or agree with is when you see something like what the OP described he’s seen in a BG, or someone ripping all the resource nodes out of a zoon using multiple toons.
So basically someone is playing something worth 10k a year while not paying anything for it, simply because of multiboxing. That sounds incredibly unfair.
Blame Blizzard for the introduction of the WOW Token and being able to convert it into BattleNet credit.
Someone is paying for it as the Tokens are being bought.
Since the introduction of the Token there are many people in game that have not paid for their sub or the expac with money because they’ve farmed the gold in game.
No, I’m blaming blizzard for allowing multiboxing. Tokens are a good way for people to spend time in-game and earn the playtime. This is a fantastic approach for people who can’t afford a wow subscription, or people who are willing to put the effort into farming gold.
Just add in wow.exe program function that will search active wow.exe process in system if program find more than 5 process, it will close all other wow.exe process.
This will nto allow to start more than 5 wow clients on one machine.
Second in EULA ban any thrid paty program that allow to copy keyboard or mouse imput to another game client.
What is VM?
But in currently EULA wow is not allowed to be used on VM. Because on VM Blizzard cannot check if you are not using cheats or bots.
If you’re running WoW on the VM, how are they going to detect you’re running it on the VM? It’ll look like you’re just running it normally.
How they are detecting if you are running wow in cloud? Yes cloud service is VM. Also they Blizzard app or wow client can check in system if VM is in system process. You have read what permisions you give to blizzard when you install they app?
Reason they let people do it = Money.
I agree not only they can’t be everywhere except extreme exemple but also often a multi boxer only problem is the head or lead.
Imho, I feel if it is within the rules and since Blizzard alow it, one is free to have let’s say four shaman alt if they want to pay that amount and play that way, we are slowly seeing an attempt on individual liberty in exemple Blizzard i don’t like multi boxer or x or y ban it.
I see and notice in game multi boxer since as long as i have been playing wow doing things their way and in no way they annoy or harrass me !
Do not ask the master for severity and get him/her angry, try to get it indulgent !
Shane o Mac, here comes the money!
We need to re-discuss this every 1-2 weeks though!! /s
Why do we have to keep discussing Multiboxing.
Botting is against the rules, multiboxing is not.
They are not going to ban multiboxing. We can live in hope that they break multibox farming of ore and herbs.
thy tuk er erbs
Until they use more than 2-3 characters in which they start to use tools that is used for input automation… aka botting.
Because greed.
It’s not but Blizzard made arbitrary and hypocritical decision to selectively allow automation in multi-boxing.
When you are using 3rd party software to repeat your actions across more than one instance of the game you are effectively automating your actions and automation is not allowed.
