Part of the problem with oversimplification of classes is that passive talents are usually better than actives, which is absurd considering that players are being punished for making their rotations more complex. A passive should NEVER be better than an active on the same row when played to max capacity. This is the stupidest design decision ever.
Examples of those âusual better passive talentsâ ?
Momentum plus countless others, like the passives you chose.
Better = situational.
What people say is better is not going to be the best in all situations (single, AoE, PvP, world contentâŚ).
That and you donât have to always go for the best. Unless you are ultimate hardcore, you can just go for the talents that provide you the playstyle that suits you the most in whatever situation.
Perhaps you didnât read correctly. I said active talents should be superior to passives IN EVERY SITUATION.
You forget there is american and chinese market.
They need braindead stuff.
Why should an active cooldown ability be better than a passive?
If you dont like a simple rotation, play a different class. Iâd rather have an extra passive than âPress 5 every 10 seconds or lose DPSâ.
Youâre mistaking more buttons for complexity.
Run, hide, fear.
Vinzora is here

/sigh welcome back vinzora
You just said why. Another active ability on the bar takes more effort than a passive. The player should be rewarded for making their rotation more complex, not punished. Thatâs called a trade-off, look up the definition if you donât know what it means. If someone takes 7 actives they should be at least 20% more effective than someone who takes 7 passives. I would like to see how many would still whine about pruning if they had 7 additional actives on their bar. But we all know Blizzard made passives superior to make the game more âaccessibleâ for bads, what a joke.
No, it doesnât. Iâd rather a rotation that requires timing than a GCD capped flustercluck like I had as Enhancement in WoTLK. Pressing an extra button isnât effort.
Here lies your main problem; an extra button doesnât make your class complex and it doesnât add effort to the game. Itâs nothing new to track or pay attention too, just another button to press that inevitably becomes muscle memory.
No, they shouldnât. One: youâre pulling numbers and percentages out of your butt and two: just because you want something your way doesnât mean that that is how things âshouldâ be.
The players crying about âpruningâ are more than welcome to take actives instead of passives. Theyâll soon realise that actives donât add complexity and that extra buttons donât make you better.
The real joke here is your attempt at an argument.
Was starting to wonder where he was
The fact that you prefer passives over actives is because itâs easier and less effort, you just admitted it. Saying âitâs just one more buttonâ doesnât dispel that. And Blizzard already admitted they pruned classes because fake elitists wrote letters and whined about how complex their rotations were getting, so itâs clear that they used the same mentality when designing talent trees. Someone high up said âDONâT MAKE IT TOO COMPLEX!!â Pathetic.
Itâs common sense.
They are giving us abilities back in shadowlands why cry over something that will change soon? If you want more abilities donât play dh
They said actives will be superior to passives?
Passives can be fine. I couldnât imagine playing my eleshaman in m+ with all the actives for instance.
You shouldnât be prevented from playing with passives only if you so wish, but you should be SEVERELY penalized in performance compared to someone who takes all actives. This way Blizzard can give those of us who like a challenge in games what we want.
Look at the old talent trees. More passive than abilities has been a thing for years. Imo lvling up is for gaining abilities and talents are for making them stronger
I think itâs time for a blue response.
Why though? Some specs dont make sense with all non-passives? Too many abilities is not better in performance if you canât use them within their cooldown. Therefore a passive will be better anyways because the passive is already buffing the existing spells in one way or another.
Why do you even play this game if it gives you so much to complain?
