I agree with this. A ‘don’t agree’ button makes a lot more sense than a ‘breaks the rules’ button as a) a lot of people don’t realise that’s what it’s for and b) I would think at least 50% of the forumers don’t know what the rules are. However I’m not sure it would be possible to change it in outsourced forum software.
Exactly this. I am not much of a poster, but i come here now and again when i am bored, cant sleep etc.
Its the same posters going over the same stuff, arguing with each other over and over. It just a continous cycle of people trying to one up each other.
Forums generally get used to complain the same way reviews of products online are generally negative. Because if you like the product you wouldnt spend time on forums or writing reviews.
It creates its own ‘toxicity’ I am not sure you will ever be able to fix it.
You wait, someone will say they don’t see their flag there
I agree, especially if that doesn’t bury the post. The dislike system was abused as well, I think opinions that are not well received should still just have the right to exist
Damn, hope I don’t get cancelled for being insensitive
Various studies show that downvotes don’t add anything good to discussions.
I presume this is also why discourse doesn’t subscribe to having them.
Nah, generally speaking I still prefer being able to display disapproval to someone’s insight, idea, or a stupid comment, etc… Because them only seeing LIKEs will emboldened them.
When someone sees they got 1 like vs 100 dislikes, maybe they’d think their comment wasn’t well received, as opposed to not seeing any dislikes and thinking they’re approved of which is literally what echo chambers do…
Very few posts get lots of likes and if something suspiciously gets lots of likes it’s usually their own alts. Imagine that alt downvoting game. No thanks.
I do like it when comments genuinely get a lot of likes though, that it’s a topic that is important to the playerbase (that use the forums).
On most things the player base is very split.
Theres been some moderation yesterday. i guess some people got the boot
I picked up a weeks ban that I got overturned. I know a lot of my posts sail close to the wind, then I get picked up on one that was completely innocent.
The mind boggles, the mind also boggles at how this place works (badly).
It is personal bias from some people.
This is not the flag of Saint Martin. That’s just the French flag.
post of the year
I like all those colours. So pleasant to look at.
That’s what you get when you know exactly how to balance it out!
Actually I’ve just been on the US forums and they seem to be cracking down on people who criticise Dragonflight in any way.
Look at this thread that got flagged, how how how? Is this offensive to anyone in anyway?
i think dragonflight is good but competitive catering like mythic+ doesnt mix well with lefty stuff putting into the game thus ruining it. i like the joy of open world messing about.
They’re not hard enough when it comes to reprimanding people with some even getting preferential treatment. The other day* we got a pointless necro from a year old thread and nothing happened to the person doing it. Instead he just went on to create more pointless threads.
My comment just got flagged, can someone tell me what I said in it that was wrong? It’s 4 comments up from this comment.
I’m genuinely concerned now, everything I’m typing seems to get me suspended or flagged but I can’t see what I said was wrong and the GM’s aren’t telling me what I said that was wrong.
I’m scared of typing any comment on the forums now.
Please read it and tell me what I said was wrong, anyone. How did it offend anyone or break any code of conduct? I need advice here.
