Why are people constantly getting flaged?

Ought to be none. Several flags should mean investigate and act. Doing forums and CS on the cheap is bad. Now the cat is out of the bag that its 5 wait for the speight of blocks

My guess is first “word” of final sentence. It may be an abreviation, but people still know what it means and technically it can and will get you in trouble.

Probably that last bit.

Are you sure it was that first “word” as you said, because… In that case why aren’t these posts flagged or taken down?

Because here are some forum titles that start with that exact word. There are loads of threads with that “word” in them. I can go on so many forums and find that word being used everywhere but none of those comments have been flagged. I’m literally being targeted aren’t I…

counts as masked swearing i suspect and insulting blizzard.

I told you what the likely cause of the flag was. If you choose to not believe that’s it, then that’s up to you. As for why others have gotten away with writing it, how would I know, you’d have to ask the people flagging you for the same thing :man_shrugging:t2: I don’t know why you think it’s something reasonable to get away with though in a game that has the “social contract” which is California-level tolerance for language; the game and by extension the forum is basically a giant safe space.

You can say this but there are countless threads where people use that word and do not get flagged.
Look even people use the term s… all over the place like heres one, in the title.

Someone here even doesn’t even try to hide what I said in the title again. Two innapropriate words in the same title sentence.

Seriously what you said makes no sense I have used that word many times over the years on the forums and seen dozens if not hundreds use it and never EVER get flagged.

So it must be something else. I know you want to think it’s just that but I can link hundreds of expamples of people using offensive language and that word I used all over the forums without getting flagged. I could win a law case easy with all these examples lol.

I asked a GM about the comment that got me suspended but they gave no reply, and since I didn’t even use any abbreviation for any offensive words in that one. I don’t even think I will ever find out what about that comment got it flagged and I’m 1000% it’s not the language, I have thousands of examples of proof of that.

Because its GD an active forum and not arena’s or classic wow its a different type of user here.
To be honest there is no logical reason to use that term and use it in caps.

It is very obviously a conspiracy against you personally. Five people got together and likely set up a group on some external site like discord and decided to just flag you for no reason at all. It is a vendetta!!

I’d be worried and concerned and write a strongly worded ticket to Blizzard about this if I were you…

This post here 19 days ago in general forums, uses the term I used in all caps as well and did not get flagged. (Comment 32 by user Crimsonclaws)

I can link dozens of more examples if you want where it’s that word used all in caps and not getting flagged and in general forums.

Flagging is done by other members of the forum. Moderators decide if action is needed.

That is wholly different from in game censored words or those coming up automatically as possibly offensive comments.

It really doesnt matter just dont use it to be on safe side, just take a breath before you post.

sigh

Fine, one more try. Sure maybe the reason you got flagged wasn’t the swear. And don’t tell me the “f” was for fruit, I won’t buy it. It’s for a word that gets bleeped for the sake of sensitive souls. And that’s a justification for flagging as per the rules, it’s considered offensive language. And you know that, you know it very well or you’d have no trouble writing it without a care in the world.

As for the other posts writing it, you don’t know they weren’t flagged. A flagged post only turns grey at 4 or 5 flags, so those posts could very well have less than that but still get actioned. Furthermore you don’t know they weren’t actioned; just because a post or thread gets someone in trouble doesn’t mean it’s deleted/locked.

Saying you’d “win this in court” is silly, in court you can’t go “But I saw all these other people do it!”. Now I’m sure you’ll remain unconvinced, but again it’s up to you if you think you can keep writing that and that it’s perfectly fine. But I don’t understand why you’ll want to put your head so eagerly on the chopping block with it.

Rules aren’t applied equally all the time. More news as it breaks.

4 or 5 people clicked on “flag post”. Whether they had legit reason or it was for the lols thats what hid it.

As far as travesties of justice go, its hardly apartheid or womens rights but go you!

I’ve had the same impression here and there.

Besides that I think it’s simply a combination of factors, one of them being whether someone flags your post for this or that breach or not. Regularly people will not get flagged despite technically it being possible, and then I assume small breaches don’t attract attention from moderators.

If you didn’t get suspended I assume the moderators didn’t think it was anything too problematic Raggedyman

Theres a very simple fix (outside of making forum access bnet account based cause even that could be abused).

Simply have the flag button flag a post to a mod, but not count towards any action.

This would both make mods have to actually look and decide to see if there is an issue and take action personally, but also without posts being hidden etc, it removes the griefing ability from those doing it.

Should have happened a long time ago.

A forum user should NOT be allowed to simply switch characters and refresh their posting privileges, nor should they be able to skulk in the shadows hiding behind an alt.

Should never have existed in the first place. Just another example of Blizzard thinking it knows the internet better than the internet does. Anyone who even for a second believes the internet is capable of policing itself to even the barest minimum of standards has clearly never been on the internet.

And 5 people, or indeed one person with 5 alts, does NOT speak for “the community”. Most if not all flags are just simple “I found that offensive”

In fact, there should be no like button either.

This is supposed to be a videogame forum, not a “like farm”.

There is so much I could say about this but I won’t as I know what will happen. I already have a huge target on my back, in fact, I fully expect to be gone in a few days after this post.

They can’t.

I agree but its a cost savings measure. Why have a decent moderation team full of people with good judgement when you can sub-contract it out to people (the forum users) who do some of the work for free? And in this case “You get what you pay for” is pretty apt.

It’s probably one of the ironies of this place, people will make random rants against cancel culture and wokeness and then 5 seconds later they are logging alts to mass flag someone who offended them!
