Why are scenarios single player content?

When i started playing WoW back in 2005 i was looking forward to an RPG where i got to play with other players. I enjoyed the game a lot untill i quit in 2008 because i had to focus more on my studies.

Fast forward to now and its really sad to see that there are so many things in the open world that prevents us from playing with other players. Scenarios in the War Campaign are single player - and its almost impossible to die or fail which is just horrible.

Sharding in Nazjatar makes it so that i barely see another player while running around in this amazing zone.

And i can understand that you might have a significant part of the playerbase that wants to do content on their own - well at least give them a challenge. I just completed the Rescue Baine scenario and i got to duel some Dark Ranger which didnt even reduce my hp below 99%. Like why am i even doing this if its just going to be me not caring about what happens and just spamming one button to eventually kill stuff.

You need to be able to fail in order for success to mean anything.

Scenarios like that started in MoP afaik but in WoD it became dull af with garrisons being introduced. NOw they treat is as a nice lore introduction for a player who doesnt even read the quest descriptions like myself.
Also i think quests imo are boring if theyre are made just to be there. Example - Nazjatar. Prepare to fight the Queen by killing turtles and rays.
