Why are Vrykul not playable yet?

How about no !
Vrykul for horde and ogres people for alliance.

You can have both, we’ll trade you for Tauren.

Ogres for Alliance? Culturally they are more similar to the Horde. In fact Orcs come from Ogres. Humans come from Vrykul.

And the Ogres actually allied with the Horde in Warcraft 2.

Vrykul consider humans as "de evolution " and don’t want them in their sight.
Ogres and Orcs are enemies and make more sense to join alliance.

The High elves (now Blood elves) thought of Orcs, Trolls, and Scourge as enemies. Now look what happened after BC. Anything is possible.

The Zandalari were enemies as well. And they looked at Elfs badly (thanks to Azshara). But That changed.

That’s actually new information for me. But I don’t recall Alliance and Ogres ever being friendly. The alliance hates orcs guts, but they would accept a non-intelligent version of them?

I would rather we get Dryad or something, not Ogres.

If you link me a source that asked for Vrykul before they became known as a thing too, sure.

Well…blizzard kind of have a model for female ogres if you have noticed this in Nazmir? Just need a bit of remodeling on the feet and hands and face.

https://media.mmo-champion.com/images/news/2018/january/BloodTrollFemaleDire007.jpg

But in game they are huge. We will have to play shrunken version.
I wish I could get decent looking human model. But then again - another human race.

Well, how do we know? What if of the Ogres we have seen in game, 50% of them were female, but brassieres just aren’t a thing Ogres are bothered about?"

I kid, Blizz aren’t brave enough to go down that route, if we see female Ogres they will probably have to try and make them look much more ‘femme’ like Female Orcs and Trolls or the most extreme case -Draenei-.

I mean I’d rather playable Gnolls than Ogres, but yes, people have wanted Ogres for ages…

Vrykul just would be…dull?

They add nothing to the Alliance. “Whoop de do, Big Humans, where have we seen that before?”

Agree with this. We kinda have three human races in the Alliance (Worgen, Human, and Kul Tirans).

Gnomes kinda count as child-like humans too.

I would rather we get something unique and nice, like Dryad. Always wanted to play those as a Druid. I imagine they would have an important story after the burning of Teldrassil, helping the Night Elves.

Hmm Dryads would be in the same situation as Naga. What would be their mounts. how would they sit on a mount etc so I doubt Dryads will be playable…however…however these guys might be your answer as they share same model of a draenai and can sit on a mount/s.

https://static.icy-veins.com/images/wow/shadowlands/ardenweald.jpg

Edit: Or Botani as they share Night elf model and animations.

They could turn into whatever mount they choose, so for example Jaina’s mount they wouldn’t ride it, they would just become it (until you dismount) . It would come with a logical magical story behind it of how they can easily shape shift due to Druidism/nature or whatever. So kinda like a racial. Just a thought.

These guys look nice too. Anything but another human

Yes but if blizzard made specific mounts for Dryads and Naga and they can’t use other/players favorite mounts, the majority of players will complain. So your best bet would be the Night fae to get as close of a dryad race.

Edit: Otherwise blizzard will have to change the model of the dryads to have 2 legs instead of four legs. Then it might work and naga needs to be remodel to have legs instead of a…um what would we call them. Snake tail?

To be honest, the Night Fae Faun models look amazing, but I can’t see it happening unless they made one of everything from each four Covenants playable, and some of those options would be a bit underwhelming.

Alliance types, hmm, well, you’ve got Jinyu and Ankoan (But there’s not an awful amount of difference between the two at all) -Potentially Sethrakk (Though they don’t really have a reason to side with the Alliance, but one could always be made I suppose) Vrykul (Duplicate of Kul Tirans…Yawn…) I suppose Tuskarr would work, as they generally seem to be more ‘good’ in nature, but people would complain because Tuskarr are not ‘pretty enough’ to be Alliance.

Arrakoa are a possibility, obviously the ones who were pleasantly disposed towards us, I mean it would be weird as one of the flight capable ones, but then thinking about it, look at the Zandalari Troll Balance form, clearly has wings, can’t fly until they hit level 58 and can take flight form, just give them a similar ability to Running Wild for Worgen, just with Flight form when that is unlocked, You can fly, Yourself, in your natural form.

Tortollan are too neutral, Naga make no sense and the game mechanics would be a nightmare, Gnolls and Kobolds would never side with an Alliance led by Stormwind, Quillboar hate everybody and Centaur have the same problem as Naga…

Tricky, tricky…

On the topic of vrykul. I given blizzard some options on giving the Kultirans a body option of Rexxar to look more muscular and a theme of drust to be more barbaric with blue body and face paint with vrykul hairstyles and tattoos and skull and bones and bark armor (Since the drust was just another clan of vrykul that left northrend 1000s years ago). That some kultirans have followed Umbric and his customs and traditions etc and live in the mountains in drustvar near a drust ruin, so Kultirans would have theme of privateer, pirates and barbarians.

There was actually a female ogre model which never got implemented.

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/wowwiki/images/d/d1/OgresDuoPortrait.png/revision/latest/top-crop/width/220/height/220?cb=20140531111804

However it is fugly, even by ogre standards, though that’s likely just the bad resolution.

Aye it was the reason why they scrapped ogres as a playable race back in cata and they instead made the goblins as playable. the female ogre was…just terrible designed. However that big blood troll female (that is just remodel of a kultiran male) and with some remodeling, could be possible candidate to be a female ogre.

Fair point. Personally I just want spellcasting ogres to be implemented like this:

https://wow.gamepedia.com/Ogre_(April_Fools)

Playable vrykul models aren’t going to be tall as you hope which will inevitably lead to more complaining.

Horde fans asking for vrykul instead of ogres blow my mind. Ogres not being their original height will still feel like ogres, vrykul not so much and will just feel like a tall human.

Plus Norse mythology/Viking culture is the most played out boring thing there is in pop culture. Pretty much generic now. Media is afraid to touch other mythology’s/cultures so they either resort to Egyptian or Norse.

World serpent, Valhalla, Odin, heimdall, ragnarok, ice giants…we get it already.
