Why aren't all the new dungeons in mythic+ season 1?

Dragonflight Season 1 will feature a new dungeon rotation for Mythic+. Four dungeons from Dragonflight are included, and four returning dungeons from previous expansions.

It was fun and nice to see old mythic + dungeons return and see even older dungeons be converted to mythic +, but why in the world would they put old dungeons in the SEASON 1 rotation, but not all the new ones?! I was so excited to run all of the new dungeons on my way to DF season 1 keystone master, but i am disappointed to see that only half of them did.

I get adding old dungeons in later seasons after we have experienced and have had hundreds of runs of the new ones. I don’t get that i have to run a Mists of Pandaria dungeon i’ve already been in a thousand times before i get to run the new fresh ones.

well, i think it’s to make variety between dungs. New and Old, and it will give a touch of new every season for m+!

I guess it is a good artificial way of making things seem new and exciting in the middle of an expansion.

Blizz should just added 4 old rotational dungeons on top of the normal DF dungeons every season, and got the same effect. Now we got 8 dungeons which is too low and every season we have to learn everything from scratch, completely throwing pushing higher, playing off roles and playing alts off. Since you are not even comfortable on your main role and spec.

Yep, worst decision ever.

Unsubbed with my sub ending a few days before DF release.
Glad i didnt pre-order the xpac for once, since they hinted at something like this a few months ago.

Time to quit and move on.
Dont see any use in returning in s2 or s3, since i do believe this new way of M+ seasons seems to be their new way forward.

Which truly is a pity, but hey, if they want to lose players this sure helps a lot.

Well ok then

What a puerile reason to unsub. To each his own, maybe stop treating wow like an irl job

Mythic changes are decent and good players will push as high as ever even with this rotations.

Thats the truth

Gluck!

Has nothing to do with taking it as a job. It is just less fun.
I also hate grimrail. yet my highest timed key too. Has nothing to do with being able to push or not.

Why?

MoP was before M+.

Most people have run every dungeon created since Legion individually more than they have run all the MoP dungeons together.

And it will be really interesting to see how they rework the dungeon to make it fit with modern M+.

The point is that you don’t get to spam them hundreds of times for two years anymore so by the end of Dragonflight (and later xpac), you actually don’t feel like you don’t want to see those dungeons ever again, like we usually do at the end of an xpac especially since M+ is a thing.

What does “artificial” even mean in this context? Between season 1 and season 2 you literally won’t have a single common dungeon.

That’s not “artificial”.

What i am seeing in the M+ -group, guild, and communities i am, is that nobody is interested in M+ anymore. No groups are forming anymore. There is no encouragement to learn and push dungeons when they are gone in 1 season. And that also is for me. I opened my vault yesterday evening and we did 2 dungeons for the vault of next wednesday. That i probably open again in the next weekend.

People are not interested in SL anymore and it started long before S4, which was basically launched to save the game from being completelly dead in the first place after they canceled the actual patch…

We will have to wait for DF and a real season to see the effects.

You don’t even need one full season to learn to do a +15 which is the highest the vast majority of the playerbase is targeting tho.

We played more than ever in s3 though. I also picked up my 2 off roles. But i also instant stopped playing all my other chars when s4 hitted. Complete new dungeons, so i only tried to get a bit comfortable in them on my main role and main char. Now we are there sort of. But in 1 month the dungeons are gone. I am not going to learn the dungeons on my alts and off roles. It is not worth it.

Well as for me it is my most played season of Shadowlands, but it’s probably helped by the very subjective fact that I totally hated the SL Dungeons.

To me they feel like pure M+ rather than dungeons.

What I mean by that is that it feels like the modern dungeons are just designed as an obstacle race and tunned to all be equally challenging and doable in a similar time, rather than RPG dungeons.

I much prefer to run RPG dungeons with a timer slapped on them than something designed for M+ and E-sport from the get go.

I bet I’m gonna prefer the four older dungeons than all the DF dungeons too.

It sure does not help it when you dislike the dungeons. I hated DOS with a passion, but that was the only one. Unfortunately in the current pool the same hate goes to Grimrail, Iron docks, Workshop and Lower Kara. Half of the dungeonpool i just don’t want to do.

I am quite excited about DF M+ season dungeon rotation. I will be happy to play old dungeons as current end game. In general i like having scalable content. Hard or easy it does now matter. As long as there are “new” stuff to do i am fine with it.

Can’t say i get the decision to do it right from the first season. Makes sense for the other seasons down the line to keep M+ somewhat varied outside of the seasonal affix but the first season really should showcase all of the new dungeons.

Because Blizz were so pleased with their idea of adding old dungeons into the rotation that they utterly ignored player feedback regarding doing it in season one and decided to go with it anyway.

Pretty much what i was going to say, although im 50/50 on the idea of new/old dungeons straight off the bat. Guess its to stop people getting bored of the new ones, but the flip side is we will get bored with this new way - at least Vault of the Wardens isnt in S1…

Vault of the wardens was always one of my favorite dungeons. Also gave a real epic adventure feeling. Would 100% switch VotW for that Court of Stars nonsense

Why would it be puerile to unsub?
The content i enjoy the most isnt going to be what i wanted from the game.
And then you go: to each their own. After judging someone. Lol.

A full first season of DF dungeons in M+.
But the older dungeons are in the rotation instantly and as a long term player i already explored / experienced all of them.

The 2 dungeons from WoD / Pandaland not on m+ difficulty but i played them loads in challenge modes. And tbh i dont really see a challenge in them being scaled up and slapped a timer onto them.

Even the recent nerfs of the beta towards Halls of Valor show how unbalanced it currently is. (-65% dmg from trash mobs is just 1 of them) but that whole dungeon got gutted in terms of changed mechanics and dmg output.

4/8 dungeons dont appeal to me. And i am already bored of season 4.
Not going to pay premium for my sub / expansion to replay content i paid premium prices for years ago.

And i dont treat wow as a job and not even sure how you even thought of it.

I simply disagree. Putting in the old dungeons isnt a decent or good change.

And i am 100% sure i can easily push dungeons with the people i play with or even pug my way there.

But i am not going to because i dislike their choices.
Season 4 had me bored so fast it was insane. Where other expansions (Legion for example) we were pushing up to 22s / 23s even in the final season.
