I mean… Hunters can, so why cant warlocks do the same.
I understand that the summoned demons do have a name of their own but I summoned him, I control him so I should be able to call him what I want.
Sure, hunters befriend animals and give them names, but they could also have their own name in their animalish language. The hunter name his pet pig, “Piggy”, but his real name is Ralph.
Warlocks should be able to do the same IMHO.
You kinda answered your own question there, you can call them whatever you want in your mind but they’re still demons you summon to do your bidding - not pets you tame to be your companion.

Because we enslave an already named demon. The demons’ name play a large part in the actual enslavement ritual I would think, not to big on the lore though…I could be wrong.
Should be at the warlock trainer. Not sure if it’s through a scroll or just gold now, it’s been a while.

The idea of the " summon demon " that u call him from the nether using a soul shard it’s not your’s , while the hunter pet is your personal pet .
It’s another type of relationship .
You can reroll their name… There is that at least. You have to visit demon trainer or whatever its called and play casino till you get something cool.

You can’t name your demon because it already has a name your not taming them like a hunter does, Your summoning them and enslaving them to do your bidding that’s why you can’t name them.
You can reroll a randomly generated name at the warlock trainer but that’s it.
U cant rename the glyphed demons tho ! Just the default ones !

Demons warlock summons aren’t his companions. They are his slaves and are forced to help a warlock. So you can call them whatever you want but they simply won’t accept name you will give them because they are pride sentient being and have their own names that they prefer.
In case of hunters you form a bond with an animal. That animal becomes your friend and you both respect each other. They perceive you as a leader of the pack and therefore accept what you decide to call them.
So hard to resist a joke that would get me banned.
You’re literally complaining that you don’t get to give a name to another intelligent life form that you have enslaved. Morally the whole thing is horrible which is part of the reason I can’t play them but this is taking it to a whole new level if serious.
But isnt that the issue here? They are summoned, they are slaves.
I am the master so I should be able to call them what I want.

I feel there is a huge inconsistency regarding this.
