Very funny post. Luckily you have ERA or Hardcore if you want that.
I wonder why Cataclysm have x100 the players than ERA and x4 the players of SoD.
It’s almost like Cata is a good expansion? Which it always was, people just have bad memories or negative bias. The Pros are way better than the Cons in Cata. This was the first time Blizzard tried innovating because they were the Top Dog and Cata shows this. Some ideas failed but a lot of the best systems to this day in Retail and in FF14 is because of Cataclysm.
I don’t agree with all your points, but this one had me thinking. I was actually thinking how flying while questing is actually detrimental to the experience.
Yes flying is convenient, and fast. But i do think the questing would have been more impactful if we were grounded at least until 85, possibly even at 85. The storyline lose its sense of dread and epicness when i can just pop a flying mount, kill my target and fly away.
That being said, deepholm has been design with flying in mind. Some area are not accessible without a flying mount. But Hyjal, Uldum an Highlands could have been no flying until 85.
My personal favorite was the Aviana’s feather from Warlords of Draenor. With a 10 minutes cooldown, it was very convinient to get around without completely breaking the game the way flying mounts do.
Hyjal would have been a nightmare without flying, you would have to take such massive detours to get to anywhere with how the roads there are designed.
Cata was never a failure , enjoyed it back then , enjoying it now!
Failure that your biased mind is imagining in an online game like WoW = end of the company!
so when people played cata till the end and will play it till then end , it means you are completely wrong!
and as mentioned by fellow gamers up here . you are 1000% welcome to go and play era all day long if u want alive on the ground zones and if u have 4 hours to make a raid!
and clear your mind from 10 years old opinions!
No idea what the point is. Was this just a Cata vs Vanilla post ? Everything here was implemented BEFORE Cata came. Wheres your crying regarding tbc/wrath that actually implemented these ?
No more than the stonetalon mountains, the thousand needles or the western plaguelands. Those areas too demand that you ride around mountains and cliffs to get to your objective. And those zones have far less flight points to speed up your travel.
Is it ?
I’m genuinely curious
They have “somewhat” released the “numbers” overall. Like just total sub, regardless if many of them was in retail/sod/Classic.
Shadowlands butchered the subs soooo hard, it was insane to see. PreachGaming should have a video or short on it.
