So Vol’jin was able to save Shadra and Hi’reek. But for some reason Rezan had to die. Why Blizzard? His death was the biggest blow to the morality of the Zandalari next to Rastakhan himself. Without the Loa of Kings the Zandalari royalty is doomed to be mortal. It would have helped the troll lore so much if Vol’jin could have made it in time and reinstate the faith of them into their gods. SOMEONE needs to challenge Bwonsamdi before his treachery can doom the kingdom. He has shown when he abonded the king that he can’t be trusted and will pull out of the deal to save his own skin. Now more then ever we need a Loa that is actually reliable and can bless the people with victory against their enemies.
Because Rezan would have eaten Bwonsamdi for what he had done…
Especially with Rastakhan
Rezan was cool. I loved that he would able to keep Bwonsamdi in check. Now that stupid Loa has unlimited freedom and craps on the people of Zandalar. I fear what he will do now that none of the other Loa have the power to oppose him.
It was either him or Sylvanas, and we know Blizzard wont kill her!
Holy t-rex got it.
Well to be fair, Rezan wasn’t the brightest candle in the chandelier either…
It is rare a demigod Leroy itself - and it wasn’t even out of character for him!
But in Bwonsamdi’s deffense, he helped a lot, but naturally as Loa of Death and Graves, his interest are not with the Living. Not the best choice as a Loa of Kings…
…but on the other hand, in theory he should help the king/queen to have counsel with the past kings and queens, offer the wisdom of countless eons worth of rules, summoning their ghost as advisors; could be an amazing Loa of Kings
But…
…lets just say he is not
Dazar was raised. So Talanji can always get help from him now. But Rezan was the reason the kingdom was able to prosper for such a long time. With his end and the demise of Rastakhan it is only a matter of time until Zandalar will die.
If an empire is so dependent of the existence of an entity or person… maybe it is its time to die and make room for something new and better.
“Comes a time when we all gotta die… even kings.” - Bwonsamdi
Not to mention, prosper is a bit strong word, Zandalar not seen any “Golden Age” in the past ten millenia; existed sure, survived, yes, but not prospered, shown any advancement nor technologically, nor spiritually nor socially - whole races apeared, evolved and rose to dominant power, while Zandalar - the oldest empire on Azeroth - remained as a relic of the past
Zandalar and Suramar are quite similar in that regard
You don’t neend fancy technology to prosper. That is a human only concept. And the only reason humans and dwarfs rose to power was because they stole land from the trolls. Ever since the alliance with the Mogu the Zandalari were the strongest tribe. And it is those glory days I want back. Rastakhan had the right idea when they invaded Pandaria but Talanji is short sighted and she can’t even control her own island fully. She is also far too dependent on the Horde to keep her throne. Without them the widow’s bite would have taken over. Because there is still no revenge for Rastakhan and the people demand blood.
I am still trying to remember who Rezan was… I don’t play Horde side in general.
The Loa of kings. The patron of the royal family. The reason Rastakhan was able to rule for over 200 years.

take a look.
why had Garrosh to die ?
The T-Rex “god” who ended up as a skeleton in the Atal’Dazar dungeon
Wouldn’t say this is true
The Dwarves built their kingdom in the mountain near they hibernated as Earthens and got Flesh-cursed
Humanity but mostly the Elves indeed took some sacred land from the Trolls, but that have nothing to do of their prosperity or rose to power
Not really, she was very clear, Zandalar is not part of the horde and she will not serve the Banshee ‘Queen’, but they will equal partners - yes, later in a book she joined the Horde council, but the Horde is - well, like always was - a coalition, alliance of races.
She proved herself to the Loa and her people, we seen that in game
Ah. Interesting…
walks away after reading
Her people do not love her. They see her as weak because after 5 years she still has done nothing to avenge Rastakhan. That is why two different rebellions rose up in a short amount of time to dispose of her. Her rule is shacky at best.
Dwarfs took Dun Morogh from the Frostmane trolls. Elwynn forest was tied between gnolls and Gurubashi. And Lordaeron used to be Amani land. The forest trolls still have a large presence in the ghostlands and the Hinterland.
I was so angry when I did the Vol’jin quest in Shadowlands. All that work for nothing. Hi’reek and Shadra are not enough. The Zandalari need all their gods to stay strong.
Yet the Gods of her people and her empire not turned their back on her
She is ruling with divine mandate, with the blessing of the Heaven so to speak
None of the Loa said, gril I will not support you, my blessings are off limit
We know the Loa could turn their back on you or even the whole tribe if disspleased
Just ask the Farakki who lost Bwonsamdi’s protection
The Trolls especially the Zandalari are deeply relegious and no matter how bad ruler you are, if the Gods are on your side, so will the people
Sure small groups could be vocal, but they are trivial compared the Empire
I ment Khaz Modan
But what you say is indeed true, but I still don’t think their rose to power had anyhing to do with the “stolen Troll lands”
True
…and it was anoying
Especilly after the trick Torga pulled to survive/reincarnate
We could easily have a baby Rezan
But Vol’jin needed a boost to be a demigod or whatever he will be…
Rezan died so Vol’jin could “live”
Not the best of trades
Rezan’s story was not over. I have no idea why they wanted to push Vol’jin again. I have no idea what the Horde will gain from him returning without him being warchief or troll leader. A loa Vol’jin is a passive actor at best and a burden at worst.
Surley the dwarf kingdom is one of the greater ones in a world since unlike the Zandalari or Orcs they are not limited to a single zone. Loch Modan, Dun Morogh and the Wetlands. That is a lot of land to feed a large population of people.
Because she was the only kid of Rasatkhan. Had he had a son instead he would have been the heir since that is how a classic monarchy works.
Mueh’zala is better.
Those weren’t small. They were enough to burn down every shrine of Bwonsamdi in Nazmir and held Zuldazar hostage to the point most of the Rastari would refuse Talanji’s call to arms.
Vol’jin was a follower of Bwonsamdi. Rezan told Bwonsamdi to get bent and release Rastakhan from the other side. I am sure who I would throw my bet in with.
Another thread?!
Be glad I stopped talking about Alliance bias.
This time it is Vol’jin bias
Not bias. Just disappointment. I have been used to being let down by Blizzard but they keep finding a way to make it worse.
