I have always been very fond of paladin class as a whole. In Dungeons and Dragons, Diablo and other RPG games I have always played paladin or ranger. When I started back in vanilla you had to play Alliance since it was not an option for the Horde faction. I have created a couple of Horde characters from time to time, but never really liked it. Have played Alliance for 15 years, and everything just feels a bit off when I’m on my horde characters. I haven’t really liked the races and models of them either.
EDIT: Also as mentioned above, Human campagin and music in Warcraft III was amazing and I was in love with whole story! <3
I was a mage and didn’t know how to get to stormwind since i came from ironforge, someone said i could just tp there, when i did that, let me tell you as a new player that MAJESTIC music and that whole environment with that draenei mage with books floating using magic the water element creature, all those mages creating portal, God I was sold on that moment!
As new player its a nice presentation of a capital city
Faction, ethics, Value, Look, Racials and race, design, both of the player and area/city.
Besides i hate playing evilish, ugly looking characters fel elves incuded and withered one too and area/zone quests, uninteresting story, monstrous/psychopatic mindset and ideal for a characters, neanderthal/retarded IQ wise, mentality wise toward the other faction , stubborn to change and technology wise characters( i said characters).
That and too many immature and loud/rude mouthed players horde side also complaining about everything and quick to do so pvp or story or pve wise, never happy except when the Aliance get an unfair deal: If the banshee die bizzard , we quit the game and so on … great mentality and a proof of maturity…
From the get go, i knew it that it was the side to avoid and that it would attract lot of undesirable/unwanted ,good riddance !
I didn’t regret my choice or even slightly was proved wrong once in 15 years !
Because after 14 years the Horde bored me, my friends keep quitting and I wanted to be Alliance from the start but always got roped into staying Horde for everyone but myself.
So now I’m a happy reroller blue-boy! Especially with those sweet NE customizations incoming
It’s actually looking pretty similar. One thing to note is that Alliance seems to value their cities / zones a lot more (ironically the thing i personally hate most about alliance).
When I started playing WoW back in vanilla launch, me and my irl friends had all decided to play horde together. So I’ve spend several years in that faction. Then I took a multiyear break from the game and when I came back I wanted to experience the faction I never really played much (aside from 2 alliance alts which I leveled to 60, but never really did anything with afterwards).
I liked it so much that I have no desire to main horde again (although I do have a few horde alts). I took my original horde main character (female orc hunter back then) and faction changed. This is her now.
I have to say; as far as cities go, I love alliance so, so, so much more than horde. Races are a mixed bag, but then again, so are the horde races.
Night Elves best race in Vanilla, Draenei best race in TBC and on.
Every time I try to play Horde for any length of the time the combination of atrocious story writing and the awful, awful attitude of the Horde playerbase has made me give it up before long.
They were more the good guys than the Horde (the main Horde race, the Orcs are after all brutal invaders from outer space that raided Azeroth for fun, despite having a full world of their own already!)
They have better looking races (before Bloodelfs!).
Their lore appeals to me more (note: ATM I am playing both sides, especially since I like Nightborne and Vulpera), especially the Nightelfs, the Draenei and the Dwarfs - No I don’t play humans, they are too generic IMHO.
