Why did you choose to play Horde?

My first ever character in BC was an Undead warlock, though that was before I really knew what the factions were all about. Later I made a Night Elf and Draenei and thought the Alliance would be my ‘favourite’ faction. I remember rolling a Troll hunter in Wrath and I much preferred the storylines levelling up that side. I liked that feeling of underdog races unifying in order to survive. Then I fell in love with Blood Elves and their lore, too.

I’ll sometimes still play Alliance because I’m not about to restrict myself to one faction, I like to be able to view the story from a non-biased POV, but Horde is where my heart is at.

My ex is a man anyway, i am female XD

Mainly because of my twinbrother, If he had wanted to play Alliance, I would have played Alliance;
When he first started playing he played Human paladin, because he thought I was going to want to play Alliance, since I usually played Alliance in the RTS games(WC1,2 and 3).
So I started off playing Night Elf Druid, because I thought he wanted to play Alliance.
But the thing is… I really wanted to play Tauren Shaman!
So I decided to level an alt, wich started off as a joke, with a ridic name, and later on became my main through my many years playing this game and as soon as I switched, and when my brother got home from the navy, he joined me on the Horde side.

And so far we’re still at home in the Horde, even though sometimes he does speak of wanting to level a night elf hunter, and I still have my old druid, so far that plan is still in the fridge.
So my reasons for the Horde;

  1. My brother.
  2. Races, I just love the Hordes races.
  3. The esthetics and the feel of the Horde, although Blizzard did allot of damage there for me with first MoP and then BFA…
Still….playing Alliance and attacking Horde players and npcs….Feels unjust and wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

I started in Vanilla. Played a nelf first. It was great, especially Darkshore. Then I tried an orc, pretty nice, than a human. Was kinda boring. Finally tried and undead and I was hooked. To be honest it wasn’t for the looks, everything was kinda ugly.

I went Horde because of the WC3 Horde led by Thrall. Also I like the looks and the story/lore/culture of the Tauren.

cause alliance is boring with their humans, small, short, fat , normal etc

Never played horde because of racials

Nothing is more fierce then an Orc warrior with a 2h axe so started playing that back in 2005.

Tried playing alliance but gnomes, male NE and Dranei makes me regret it instantly.

Played on Bronzebeard in vanilla with 75% alli , 25% horde, battlegrounds were realm based that time and liked being the underdog

Cause I wanted to be a mongoloid face smasher then I saw orcs and it was basically

Orc: Allow me to introduce myself
Me: Yes

Going back horde soon so all is well in the world.

When I picked up the game again in Legion, after many years, with my original vanilla account long lost, I set out to create a new main. I wanted to be a Paladin, but also an elf. Thus the faction choice was made. If there had been Night Elf Paladins things might have been different.

I’m the same as you. I think I will do a tauren druid with the new Shadowlands changes for sure!

What?

It’s super straight forward!

Orgrimmar makes less sense than Stormwind when it comes to navigating and things like that.

The Horde has the worst cities.
Undercity was the worst of the original ones.

Then they made Dazar’alor and placed the mission table on the boat and everything else all the way on top of the pyramid. I mean, what?

but isnt it the same concept like stormwind? it both has quarters.

but yeah, i agree that dazar alor is one of the worst cities.

But it’s underground! You can’t just fly from A to B in a straight line!

Imo Orgrimmar is pretty straight forward aswell. It’s basically just a big circle, so you’ll always eventually find what you’re looking for.

Stormwind on the other hand has just soooo many small buildings you have to check.

On a serious note though. I think it usually comes down to which faction you played first.

:woman_shrugging: same could be said about ironforge. i personally really hate it, so i guess i understand where you re coming from.

Almost a circle… Valley of Honor and Valley of Spirits are outside the circle.

Meanwhile the names don’t tell you what’s located there… It makes sense that the Auction House is in the Trade District yeh?
But what about “Valley of Strength” screams “Auction House and Bank!”?

But yeah, it’s probably about where you were first.

At least there’s more room in Ironforge : P

For short little dudes they build their ceilings veeeeery high up and their common areas very big.

no surprise when you got to compensate for something! :smiling_imp:

A combination of bad experiences with other players on Alliance early on and the observation that Horde gets all the cool stuff like dinosaur mounts, shamans and undead.

Went Horde sometime in 2006 and never looked back. I knew I was home when I played through the Barrens.

The amount of times I’ve died being too lazy to find my way down the stair labyrinth and jumping down waterfalls instead. :pensive: I mean, that’s my fault I suppose. At least Bwonsamdi gets a laugh out of it.

Dazar’alor is stunning but a nightmare unless you have flying, lol.
