Why did you choose to play Horde?

Alliance seemed too… prissy, so I started and stayed with the Horde. I do have Alliance alts to see their side of the story, but my heart always belongs with the Horde.

Because undead and Tauren are the master races :+1:

I just want to see the story from both sides. Every new expansion i level my Night elf Druid first together with one of my many many horde alts
After they have finished the stories, i’ll start on any of my other alts horde/alliance doesn’t really matter for me.

I don’t really I guess. I do want to experience both sides but Horde story seems so boring to me. Most of my Horde playtime is on a Goblin as their story is mostly funny.

However to this point I have yet to do any quests in Ghostlands or Hillsbrad because I couldn’t bring myself to level that far. The farthest I’ve gotten with an Orc is Ashenvale.

Well i went horde cus i’ve heard how they litterly can easilly do m+15 and above and i wana be on the winning team especilly if it means i can get away from fat kul’tirans and and trashgnomes.

When I first started to play I was Alliance, sadly the realm I played on at that time was dying so I joined a friend on Draenor and played Horde.

At the end of WoTLK I left the game, when I returned I rolled Alliance again (as the friends I played with at that time preferred Alliance). This did not stop me rolling Horde characters as well.

I guess for me I love playing both factions not only to see the story from each perspective, but also so I can play with friends on both factions.

I play both factions but I prefer horde because my main is horde and the horde is cooler. And I mean when I hear an orc shout for the horde I’m like HVBFDHKBSD LOKTAR OGAR BLOOD AND HONOR FOR THE HORDE!
but when I hear someone shout for the alliance I’m like meh.

Because all the hordes on the forums looks at themselves as kings & have their head so far up their (a word) i wanted to come and see what all that was about!

I was dissapointed, although i liked that you could give gold to homeless zandilaris

Because of Thrall. Which is unfortunate since wow’s writing team seems to be stuck in WC2.

I went Horde because of WCIII with the Thrall/Horde campaigns always being my favourite. In fact thinking back on it I most enjoyed the Orc campaigns in WCII as well.

The side quests for the Founding of Durotar in WCIII were always my favourite bits of the game on replay. So when I first heard about this thing called WoW, probably just after US release, I decided I wanted to be Rexxar and the closest option in my mind was a Tauren Hunter.

I knew nothing about MMOs, arguably I still don’t, and bungled my through most of the game not even knwoing about talent points until mid 30’s and then not knowing that you were supposed to only pick 1 tree. Racials and all the rest of it didn’t even cross my mind and never mind being the dominant faction as back then the Alliance was massively in the majority.

I am already playing a human in real life. Really didn’t wanted that in a fantasy game.

We really should have an equivalent as to why people choose to play Alliance.

Looking at some of the replies here I think there’d be a risk of it being littered with trolly replies. But hey, why not.

So many posts here that seem unable to articulate a reason without taking a childish potshot at the other faction :face_vomiting:

Agreed. Would be cool to compare the reasons between factions.

I’ll update this one and then I’ll see what I can do.

I’ve made a comparative thread and credited you here for the original premise: Why Did You Choose to Play Alliance?

I’ll look at collating any replies into similar categories, alternatively keep an eye on the thread and you can do similar yourself if you prefer!

Thank you.

Updated the chart, if anyone’s curious.

Basically Allied races (or Vulpera, let’s call it what it is), Appearence and Race lore lost some percentage in favor of playing with friends.
