I had a friend who took me in to his room and shown me the game i was blown away this was back in 2005 or 2006.

I was a lot younger compared to them and one of my friends had the blood fang set on his rogue and would flex by letting us log in to it when he was not playing

We elves live for thousand of years so twenty years are nothing :man_elf:

My then boyfriend, now husband introduced me to it.
Used to watch him play, being amazed by the world and its setting ,untill he said “why don’t you try?”
Long story short, its been 10 years and now I play more than he does.

Before I dont have hear about first WoW.
But later something I check sites and people make fanarts/video/meme/shop.
Also ex friend in professional school , who show about WoW items.

Make me feel this game must be popular and interest. I bought TBC…WoW’s se
It’s very my first mmorp :joy: :skull: took me years learned how better play

Ive always loved LoTR so WoW has always been super appealing to me. As a kid my parents wouldve never paid that much monthly for my subscription so now as a 30y, job etc, i decided to finally try it half way through shadowlands although i did not buy the expansion until later on i was loving too much leveling on BfA.

I was already playing an MMORPG with a group of IRL friends so when we heard that Blizzard was making one… We all decided that we’d play it together.

This was what we were playing before WoW. Priston Tale. A korean grinder MMORPG.

All I can remember is watching my mum play when it was first out and thinking it was cool and wanting a go. I did not get very far :dracthyr_crylaugh:
I just socialised in Goldshire (before it was a total weird place) and couldn’t get past level 7 for a very long time.

I played Ragnarok Online :kr: before WoW :stuck_out_tongue:

Clinical depression.
I’m not cured, but hey…at least I got to know this awesome game and share memories with a lot of incredibly nice nerds.

Warcraft 2 and 3 fan. MMORPG fan. WoW was both things. I didn’t get it launch week, not sure if even same month, but definitely early on.

Original account, work colleagues played it.

This account, I just fancied playing the game again.

My ex friend played this. I alwasy wanted try.
But not idea how download. I was poorer english read :sob: rofl

the game is actualy dead but was really nice by the past.

because it offered the mmorpg experience that none other mmorpg from that time could offer (and because it was almost impossible to play FF online from my country at that time )

the competition from that time were lightyears behind

we are talking about games like

Lineage 2
Ragnrarok online
Ultima onlime
Mu online

and similiar.

none could offer even fraction of wow was offering in years 2005-2010.

…2005, work colleagues persuaded me, never looked back!
(Had both Xbox and PlayStation at the time and got rid of them!) :grinning:

August 2009, played warcraft 2 in 2000, then warcraft 3 when it came out in 2002, then found warcraft 1 in 2007 and was interested in seeing how things continued after, didn’t have a good enough pc, I actually had to get a better one specifically for wow.

I was invited to the EU beta test before WoW was released. I still remember finding out that Teldrassil was only a small part of the map. I played Diablo 2 prior to WoW and never played D2 again after joining the beta.
