Why did you start WoW? ❤️

Because I saw the South Park episode and was curious to try out the game.

I played historic city builders and helped run a website for them. A friend of mine there mentioned he’d been playing a new game called World of Warcraft and it was good fun. I ignored him for a while. I was still happy building cities.
Then finally, just to shut him up, I bought WoW and made a couple characters. I then realised we could play together in this game, told him I’d bought it and we played every evening for several years then he had to cut down for various reasons so we now still play twice a week (been playing tonight; he got me killed in Scholomance Remix so I’m sulking  )

I never really gamed before but did the education computer science at one point where some of my classmates played wow and showed me the game in class… it looked so cool to me so we downloaded the game for me as well. Was instantly hooked. This was during TBC. Played really much for around 3,5 years then had to stop around the start of Cata. Had 10-11 yrs break but I kept on thinking about wow more and more again and the ‘addiction’ is back

I was a hardcore Guild wars players but when i saw my brother play WoW i was like: oooh, what is that?
Began my journey 2 or 3 months before the release of burning crusade.

Some Friends showed us the game in vanilla and we liked it because we both could play while our baby was sleeping behind us.
Better then watching the 800th rerun of you-name-it on tv.

Where’s the time it was considered fun to grind a character to 99/50, and then do it again for a different color scheme :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Was playing other MMOs (like Ragnarok Online, Mu Online, Myth of Soma, and Legend of Mir) when WoW came out, wasn’t particularly interested in playing another MMO back then in 2004.

Wasn’t till TBC that I took interest in WoW, though I only gave it a try via a private server.

One can only stomach bugs and broken mechanics for so long till I took the dive playing the real thing.

Been playing WoW since late TBC.

Couldn’t find a job at the time and my dad bought it for me and subscribed as he thought I might like it.

At the time it was very hard to find a job in general due to the economy back then, he could see I was trying my upmost, taking day trips to London to drop cvs around directly and meet agencies etc I think he picked it up as he thought it looked like my type of thing and to ho stop me thinking about cvs in general haha.

Anfld here we are, years later took a break over mid mop, wod and legion came back in bfa (irl reasons)

BfA cinematic sold the game to me.

Friend was like; “you can recreate your art character in this game I picked up”

So then I made an undead warlock. I still have the same undead warlock.

Same here, except it was my Nephews that were playing it & I started 9 months before Burning Crusade launch.

I was 19 years old the year was 2005.

I just had been dumped by my then girlfriend.

I had giving up investing time into people.

I was looking for away to shut myself off from everyone i knew.

I found a newish craze called mmorpgs, my brother discribed it as " a entire world to explore online with other people, but you have to pay to play"

I brushed it off at first but the idea of escapism into a new world grew and grew on me to a point i eventually started playing.

I remember feeling a mix of excitement and guilt when i first started.

Excitement because i wanted to explore.

Guilt because of what i knew i was leaving behind by doing this.

Funny enough i saw ad of ffxiv on youtube while watching a video and i researched about it to come to know that it is a mmorpg .

Then i researched more and found out that there is one more mmorpg called world of warcraft and both wow and ffxiv have been competing for first place for sometime now .
So for the past 3 weeks i have been trying out both ffxiv and wow to see which i like more .

Probably by first week of sepetember i will make my decision which of these game to play and invest in for the forseeable future

i played on a pri[redacted] server with a friend for about a month, but it was buggy as hell, then i decided to buy it. startd in legion, and it was hella fun.

Through a friend. He used to play and suggested me to try WoW, that’s pretty much it.

WC3, I wanted to know how the stories of the hero characters continued
waited for tbc to actually play tho
made a warlock as a first char but rerolled to (this) paladin a month in and its been my main since

One of my best friends annoyed me to no end to start playing. We barely speak ever since.

I start hanging with Blizzard since “The Lost Vikings” continuing with all World of Warcraft I-II-III and waiting for their 3D open world… and boy it was laggy as hell.

Was there in defending an opening of Dark Portal (no mount tho), got legendary hunter bow from Onixia and MC Raid

… and still stuck in here …

My brother showed me the game in MoP and I’ve loved it ever since, played on his account every now and then and only during the end of bfa did I really get my own account and start properly playing

Me and my ex had just broken up, and the only place he would still have time to talk to me was in wow.
So i started playing the game with him.

We stopped talking, i think he even stopped playing, but im still here years later.
