They mostly focus on speedruns in Classic. The guild that accumulate the more bis brown boyz wins.
There is also money involved (real and gold) through gdkp runs.
To achieve highest $/hour you need perfect comp.
In retail i used to raid in a twink 60 guild that was doing the content hardmode (no enchant / no comsume / no wb / no class stacking). The most fun i ever had beside twinks 50 raiding MC/ AQ20.
I was thinking of started such a guild for hard mode raiding in Classic but to be honest the demand is not really here i feel. Most classic players seem to prefer steamrolling content with loot pinatas than wiping / progressing. I can’t blame them though.
Indeed. I’d be a lot more impressed by unusual achievements. Druid only Naxx or something (If that’s possible). Sure many will ask “but why?”, well…'cause it’s hardcore
Well hopefully when TBC classic releases the people that remain in classic will thrive in this way and we will see more of these types of players who are not focused around min/maxing in such ways. In my opinion these people are not as good as they think they are, they are heavily carried by world buffs, I have been in plenty of raids now where as soon as they lose their world buffs you start to see cracks in the streamlined way of playing their class.
Personally my goal in classic is I want to get full BIS spelldamage gear as a rogue and test out raiding with shadow oil with shadow priest debuff shadow weaving 15% shadow damage, curse of shadow 10% shadow damage and maybe even a warrior using nightfall 15% spell damage.
