Lately people say this as if this is a bad thing while also paying their subscription.
I actually agree with you on that but i think we should educate parents more on that. I’ve spoken to quite a few moms who don’t realize how toxic and waste of money buying their kids fifa packs and skins in fortnite are.
It’s mostly down to a lack of education about them.
Yes peer pressure especially in fortnite happens often. Their peers get the latest skin , make fun of the kid who doesn’t have it. That kid feels pressured to ask mom and dad for it. They wear it for like a day and never use it again.
Of course there is a bad side to MTX.
I would never dispute that.
My thoughts are is just 1 transmog set.
Its not even a good set.
Its very niche.
You also get it just for subbing so I got it for free.
Its not the first time transmog has been on the store.
If people have issues with it then they are blind to the history of the store.
The store is not suddenly going to be full of gear sets and the game suddenly devoid of sets to earn.
Imo im very happy to have got the set and am very glad it wasnt locked behind hard content i would never be able to do like most unique things in the game.
What is better:
1 Buying gear for real money
2 Get if for doing quests for half hour
It is best transmog set for evey race that have big ears, because it have holes for ears and this is only set with holes for ears!
Was this comment seriously worth getting banned?
Like what the hell dude
never noticed and even so no one is going to wear it anyways
Yes it was. Because some get my girlfriend sick, and he don’t see diffrence between wearing mask or not. And them are this same type of people.
I would love to earn everything in game. Like i said i don’t raid anymore. I feel everything new in wow these days is aimed at raiding. However i feel Shadowlands is going down the direction i want to play. More customizations and cosmetics.
A mount and pet is a cosmetic btw.
However if they are thrown in the store
- You don’t have to buy them
- You can obtain them in game , playing the game.
- Wether you pay with gold or irl cash that is up to them. It’s their money or time and they should’nt be questioned how they wish to spend it.
It’s a long time since WoW have been the most popular MMO on the market, FF14 is actually more popular than WoW these days. WoW is floating on old nostalgia, but it’s struggling to make ends meat due to its falling popularity. On ranking sites like MMORPG, WoW isn’t even close to the top in terms of hype.
As for OP’s question. I think it stems from just how greedy ActivisionBlizzard is as a whole. It’s not specifically Blizzard as per say, but the fact that ActivisionBlizzard as a whole, is just extremely greedy in everything they do. Combine with the fact that they lay off people left and right, while the top CEOs just bathes in money.
It’s more or less the same that both companies do, so there is no difference there. But as said, Blizzard - and in extend ActivisionBlizzard - has for years shown their extreme greed and lack of care towards their player base. That eventually shows up as being targeted easier by flaming.
This right here is my biggest gripe with the 6 month sub bonuses. The mounts and the transmogs are intensives to encourage players into the 6 months subscriptions because player engagement doesn’t matter once they’re locked in. My question is WHY isn’t the content in the game good enough to keep people around? Why does blizzard have to trick pleyers into prolonging their subs to keep subscription numbers up?
Well it is F2P for ME as I use tokens.
I do the sub because I do stick around.
Even when I’m not actively playing I like to be able to just jump on should I randomly chose to.
Its better value too.
I mean, realistically no one who would never have considered a 6 month sub would do it for that set. Its kinda all over the place.
It would only get it from those on the fence.
My other half did a 6 month the other day before the set was announced just because he figured it was better value.
Problem is, i think, currently lot of in game activities lack cool unique rewards. Like RAF set couldve been for archaeology (cut content in SL), this new set couldve been for darkmoon or trial of style (all rewards there are absolute trash), prepatch sets same trash, 100 rep mount reward is recolor, 350 and 400 mount reward also recolors, 400 toy reward - recolor, plenty of shop mounts could have been used in these places. If all game activities had unique rewards, a few shop items wouldnt be as bad.
Not for this set no it’s honestly ghastly. but the mounts have undoubtedly encouraged players into a 6 month sub.
Agreed SL delayed , no pre-patch event in game. We are all bored out of our minds. A Darkmoon questline or event with the set as a reward would have been great.
A real sorry to the WoW fans for being so patient until SL gets fixed.
That would have been a great gesture.
But isn’t the Blizzard we’ve known for over 10 years. So why would we expect that from them ?
The first mount did for me
I had my sub running every month for like 2 years by that point.
Figured since I’m always subbed might as well get a free mount from it on top of the discount
WoW is still the biggest. SE reports only accounts created not active accounts. WoW probably has over 200 million created by now. FF is probably still less than a million actual subscriptions. The only way it’s going to grow is if they put it on XBox.
Is there any evidence of this? The last time that there where numbers released, WoW was still on top.
I remember reading an article on Eurogamer once. It was about Overwatch. And in the comment section there was a person who asked why Eurogamer did so many articles on Overwatch instead of covering other games some more instead?
And one of the Eurogamer staff replied and said that Overwatch articles were really popular and got a lot more views than most other articles, so they basically just provided their audience with the content they seemingly wanted.
And I think that’s a general trend when it comes to Blizzard and their games. They get a lot of coverage and are often brought up as the examples or references.
Blizzard are famous to many. And they’re infamous to equally many.
And that combination makes for a lot of attention surrounding their games, both good and bad.
