Why do only melee get Legendary weapons as always?

Why is there a bias against melee and that they always get big fancy weapon, even legendaries and the rest of us casters running around with a dagger that can fit in your pocket??

This simply isn’t true, Hunters have had at least 2 legendary weapons (the sylvanas bow, and the vanilla (I think?) that offered unlimited ammo).

Well, considering how much drama it creates, let it be only melee, we don’t need a legendary

Because you have to put it into your pocket while you are casting? On the other hand melees use the big heavy weapons to hit the big bad guys.

Also for lego weapons:
melee weapon legos: 6 (thunderfury, sulfuras, twinblades of Azinoth, shadowmourn, fangs of the father, fyr alath)
ranged weaponlegos: 6 (atiesh, thoridal, valanyr, dragonwrath, rae’shalare, nasz’uro)

Seems pretty even to me.

There has only been 2 legendaries so far in Dragonflight. And they come with the seasons…

I don’t think they will stop with legendaries for only Evokers and two handed melee wielders.
We might see more in season 4 and the war with in. Expansions for other classes. Casters and melee alike.

Considering it’s tied to a god awful RNG clownfest I’m happy my spec doesn’t need to farm one.

Because retribution paladins need it to be somewhat on par with mages

To compensate their miserable experience in M+ when 2/3 of the affixes are against them

This! Everytime a legendary gets announced, I just cross my fingers, hoping it’s not gonna be a set of warglaives.

And not because I would have to farm them or anything, but because people will automatically require them since I can wield them.

trust me you woudnt want this rng/casino bollocks legendary system. ask evokers last tier and 2h 'ers this tier. we passed mid season and majority of people still dont have lego and let me tell you it feels so dissapoint to get ember every week after fyraak kill. i woudnt mind if it is a quest chain, some boss kill, craft etc but very high chance to obtain it first 1.5-2 months. now we get into the time of the season getting legendary now useless. just imagine getting it 5 weeks before season4 ? what you gonna do with it. you would be probably end of your prog raiding and m+ pushing. it feels horrible to do 10k less single targert dps and more than that aoe dps because i dont have enough luck for casino gearing. be careful to what you wish for

i agree with you. if my class gets same system in the future i ll just reroll another class without legendary. it is just horrible system and there is nothing you can do about it. if it was a small dps increase i woudnt mind but it is +10k single target and even more aoe dps increase so you cant just avoid it

I think it’s about time us tanks got a nice shield legendary (or weapon fragment for non shield tanks to forge holding the same effect). Or give healers all the future legendaries to boost their population!

And ideally one that isn’t expensive to craft or full of rng that could take all tier to drop.

When will Enhancement shaman get a legendary? If there’s an agility weapon it’s always a sword or dagger. If it’s a two-hander, sorry, shamans you cannot use it anymore.

It would be nice if other specs got their time to shine rather then the always favoured classes and specs.

Like any loot is? I have the lego, but I dont have Smolderon trinket.

Thoridal, and it was in TBC.

Of course the Sylvanas bow was decent too - I was happy as a clam that I could try its effect in DF without having to grind for the low rng item from a raid I cannot even solo.

I would say this is the case if there wasn’t a leggo in 10.1 for evokers. Otherwise agree - there should be a decent staff for casters/healers, and it should be preferably obtainable outside of “the raid” as well, same as tier sets. The last one we had was I think, Tarecgosa from Cata.

Now not saying people could be able to farm +2s for such an item, but saaaay it could appear in the M+ section in the vault in any slots that are 15+? (And also the pvp equivalent while we’re at it. They were never satisfied they had to PvE to obtain player power for PvP, see BfA where the best they had were random item drops and they had to farm keys for vers.)

Then the haters who believe “bUt lEgGoOeS sHoUlD oNlY cOmE fRoM tHe rAiD!” would also have to see that one way or another, the player earns that powerful item.

Off the top of my head we are 6 and 6 for ranged/melee Legandarys.

I think you need to make a difference between some of the pieces though. I would not consider Fangs a full fledged melee legendary as it was rogue exclusive.

Thing is thus far most significant legendaries for melee were universal, so it was for either for strength or for agility users.

In case of ranged two of the one you mentioned are hunter exclusive (and one could be used by warriors and rogues back in the day), one that was for healers, and one is evoker exclusive. Casters only really had two that were open for multiple classes.

Strength-based Melee are fortunate on that regard as they generally have access to a legendary if it is not agility-based. It is also unfortunate for them as they have to rely on whatever acquisition method Blizzard attaches to obtain said item.

Having a legendary added for your class is bad, because they undertune your damage, so that it doesn’t blow out of proportion when you get the legendary.

In the end the players who get the legendary end up as strong as other classes, and the ones without it weaker

For anyone who isn’t aware of the legendaries, past and present. If you go through expansion by expansion you’ll see all sorts that aren’t in the game anymore.
