During levelling it is counter-productive to skip bosses, cos you loose xp and bonus xp at the end. Of course if you are the tank and you make dungeon levelling, it is not so much problem for you, but there are 4 other people in the group, why may feel different.
When I tank I only skip, when everyone want to skip.
Lvling in dungeons as a new player must be such a rotten experience. Everyone wants to skip everything they can so you only get to experience a small portion of the dungeon, that older players had the âprivilegeâ to experience fully when it was new.
I canât really blame players for doing what gives the fastest XP per hour, especially for tanks. IDK why Blizzard incentivizes this so heavily. They should only award the end of dungeon bonus if all non-bonus bosses are killed. The only exception should be the really big dungeons that people would only run a portion of originally, but Blizzard already tried addressing that by splitting those dungeons into portions.
The worst thing is that even now they mess this up with dungeons like plaguefall or freehold.
Youâre basing this on what exactly?
WoW isnât of legal drinking age yet. Oh and Blackfathom Deeps was changed in WoD anyway.
Not exactly a riveting experience.
New players (at least some of them) want to experience the game, not rush to the end.
You asked a question but it doesnât seem like youâre interested in an honest answer, you just want to invalidate any reason presented to you.
The way things are I canât find a clear solution to this problem. People who have 20+ characters will probably want to skip and be done with it as fast as possible. People who are new to the game would and should want to enjoy the new experience. However both players need each other. Experienced players get faster ques and new players get a smoother experience with people who know tactics so the run wonât end up in a disaster. So splitting the ques based on experience wouldnât work.
The only real solution is for everyone to agree on the start of the run if you skip or not. If you donât like either conclusion you are free to leave the dungeon.
The solution is in Blizzardâs hands. Either make non bonus bosses unskippable, make the EXP bonus require killing all non bonus bosses or make it proportional to the amount of bosses killed.
The big XP gain is at the end of the dungeon, the faster you finish the better, if you want to go slow while leveling and take your time, perhaps make your own group, the majority wants to be at level 60 where the end game is.
yeah but that could be said about those who want to speedrun dungeons too, couldnt it? if you want to speedrun dungeons, go ahead, seek like-minded people and make your own group.
The majority wants to speedrun, so the minority has to adapt. Not the other way around.
care to back your claim up with evidence?
The fact that the majority of the group always agree with me skipping ? There is always one oddball who doesnât want to but 4 is greater than 1.
that one dungeon, maybe. but doesnt mean that everyone thinks like that.
i have been in plenty of dungeons where people didnt speedrun and did the leveling dungeons normally.
so as long as you only have anecdotal evidence, which doesnt account for much, im afraid this is all just your opinion.
Every dungeon I do I speedrun, and everytime there is at most one guy complaining.
yeahâŚwhich means not everyone wants to speedrun dungeons, great.
Well until someone organise an actual study of player behavior in lvling dungeons thatâs as good as it gets in terms of evidence.
Everytime there is one guy who doesnât want to and 4 guys who wants to, so I just let democracy win and if they are unhappy and throw a tantrum they get the boot. Simple as.
Hate skipping personally, hate the entire idea of rushing through a dungeon like itâs a chore. Iâve learned not to speak up about it and just go with it but wouldâve voted âNOâ on that votekick if I was in the group
well thats just an absolutely obnoxious attitude to have then imo.
yeah, speak up or âget the bootâ and give people like op the illusion that everyone wants to speedrun.
The benefit of being a tank - âIts my way or the highwayâ. When I am lvling with my tank-able alts. I set the route and run it. Somebody pulls something extra? You pull it - You tank it. Want to vote-kick me? Sure. I will just insta queue up for the next dungeon and you can just wait your 15-30 mins for another tank.
That is what it comes down to pretty much
In that case he was insulting me.
Supply and demand, basic economics.
