As oposed to playing LoL/CoD/CS/ any other game that is not grindy, but you also get no progression out of it at the end of the day? Same as any single player RPG where you “waste” 100 200 hours and then you delete it and it’s all gone forever?
Progressive power is the baseline of MMO Genre. It’s the goal of the game, same as the goal of CoD is getting some headshots and big scores on the table.
If you play video games as a hobby/relax time, any poison you pick is literally the same. Just chose what makes you happy. Heck, you can say anything that it’s not work related is a waste of time, like going to a pub or a concert. Then we would all become the little robotic workers any company would be proud of right?
Kekw, its funny you say that. I used to play Modern Warfare 1 and 2 when they were fresh, CS Source, League of Legends and all these old games. I recently played a few of the newer versions. They are literally the same game with different maps. Is that recycled content? Any game franchise is the same if you have played it from the beginning. You must be new here to not understand how it works. Ever heard about FIFA or NFS?
And you are okey with that?.. Will you always be for as long as you play games?

OFC I’m not, but my point is WoW is literally way different then that. You don’t have to do the same content for 4-6-10 years. There are always new raids, dungeons, zones, etc. Yes, sometimes the systems and grinds can feel a bit repetitive, but they are not required at all.
I literally never stepped into the Maw doing dailies in 9.0. Why would I? There is zero gain in that. Who cares about a few sockets? Just pressing 1 or 2 abilities at the right time, or having 2 seconds more uptime on target makes up for that 1% power boost. It’s all an illusion. No system is required for you to get KSM, Aotc, or high arena rating.

No other MMO out here comes even slightly close to WoW’s buttery smooth character movement and combat.
I’d go as far to say that most console games don’t come close either.
The lore of the world (excluding danusers latest tumblr blog of an xpac) and the stylized graphics, along with the silky smooth movement/combat…
Why would you play anything else ? lol
