because warmode has alot of people using it for the xp buff. They will get extremely upset when expected to actually pvp once in a while.

Personally i hate entering bgs wich are already in progress, same thing with any match based game

You can have warmode on for lvls lower than that and timewalking isnt permanently up.

There is nothing to get mad about when you get killed. Rage whispers are a long-known thing in WPvP and they contain some colourful words but this is also not something to get mad about. :slightly_smiling_face:

When someone rage whispers you in WPvP, the only thing they are doing is praising your skills.

And it is very funny and entertaining to read rage whispers.  :joy: The people are very creative on rage whispering. Just don’t report and don’t reply and move on. :ok_hand:

WPvP is one of the most fun parts of this game because it is very chaotic.  :joy: And I still don’t know how those people found and ganged me on the other side of Revendreth just because I killed their lovely low-level friend as % on WPvP WQ.  :joy:

Turns out that enticing PvE-only players to turn WM on for a PvE buff doesn’t actually make them want to PvP any more than they ever did. Only way to change this would be something like the buff is only active for 20 minutes after you last killed an enemy player, thus forcing confrontation to keep it active. Although many PvE people would just not bother any more, because it’s not worth the time and effort for the % they get.

That said, the “rules” of open world PvP vary by the player. Some find it dishonourable to go for someone else who clearly hasn’t noticed them, is engaged with a mob, or otherwise distracted and will bypass or ignore them. Others specifically look for chances to get the drop on someone for a quick and easy kill. When the latter attacks the former, the first player probably considers the second to just be plain rude. It’s not that they weren’t willing to fight you, it’s that they thought you’d come at them fairly and they don’t think you did.

War Mode has no incentive for PvP. It has incentives for PvE rewards and that is why many people are there.

That is why people of opposite factions tend to ignore each other. People feel entitled to that status quo and hate it if that is disrupted. It means they are inconvenienced.

It’s like entering the lottery and malding when they lose.

the jesus christ hunter whose feign death does not fool no man :joy:

i think is safe to assume person is trolling or in need of alot coaching on the matter he is commenting on

in that post i was talking about rated pvp. what i’m talking about here is open world pvp. big difference

its like in any game where people can interact with you i guess, always disliked games where you shoot someone and you can hear person screaming something reee to you about the way he were killed

if i think of this more its an mmorpg and people interact with each other on a mmorpg setting, hence they will say things like “bro are u kidding bro” “are u sure bro bro…” while you kill them, and its their choise to use their time on typing instead trying operate their characters before they died

just see it as a buff for you example if they choose to type instead operate characters and if the message comes after the encounter and breaks tos then you are free to report it

Attacking someone who isn’t attacking back isn’t skill; it’s pathetic.

Now; I personally don’t ‘rage whisper’, but I will ask them why they’re attacking me and start a conversation. Because attacking someone who’s not interested just isn’t okay.

And, sure… It’s Blizzard’s fault for putting rewards into warmode that have no business of being there. Without such ‘carrots’ people would just join warmode because they want to. Not because they feel they ‘have’ to.

To be clear; this is not how I personally feel, because I’m not falling for this trap: They could add all the extra XP they want; I’m not doing it.
I have enabled warmode a few months back to earn some transmog pieces though; and it wasn’t fun.

I get mad, because pvp contains players that are hypocrites and support un-fair gameplay. I got silenced for 3 days like a week ago for pretty much posting the truth, but I used abit foul language. I won’t this time, but since farming the WQs for a few weeks for Marks of Honor, I encounter this daily:

  • Ppl avoiding me on this main (i usually go there as a tank), and upon going to a lower geared alt, I get stomped by same people within seconds (mainly 350 ilvl toons).
  • Ppl chilling in the WQ areas and killing people non-stop, even after completing quest. Pathetic.
  • People avoiding me (usually happens horde vs ally) when there’s a chance for a 1v1, but when 2-3 people come in, they suddenly have the courage to go for a 3v1. Interesting.
  • People getting tons of cobalt assembly powers, and stomping people just trying to complete the WQ on purpose. So fun.
  • Someone killing you on purpose. There was this tauren hunter a few days ago, that killed me. Ok fair play, he was better than me. After killing me, he started to kill me once again. I cursed at him and asked him ‘WHY?’. He whispered me back, saying that he hates demon hunters (we’re both horde btw). He kept following me all the time.

These are just a 1 week worth of reasons. There’s plenty more. Never met such hypocrites and such illogical creatures, that are PVP players.

disable warmode and nobody can touch you, also stop cursing at people they can report you on that, i think you behave toxic and get banned because of it

solution is simple to not use warmode if you dislike pvp elements of the game, ive never played on anything than pvp servers for the very reason that i dont like pve and for me it were more fun roaming around stv at lvl 30 in vanil than do the quests there to level my character

it was exciting to enter the jungle and you knew someone might jump on you any moment, most fun times ive had in this game and sadly it was long time ago, were not getting it back with the current direction of wow and arenas anymore its a blast of nostalgia from the past

you used to choose server depending if you want to be pvp / pve now the case is you have simple button to switch on and off, theres no reason that you act toxic towards people that use such function in game and do the participation they like doing when you have the option to not take part in it, if you still choose to act toxic to them then there is chance that you get ban for language if you are not careful with how you interact with the changes they made you sign on tos around sl and again in df

Hahaha true. My favourite ragewhisper is “Gz :)))))))))”

It’s an instinct to get mad and wanting to get even.

It’s just a bad idea to show it since this is what a ganker wants.

There is some incentive; mainly the weekly sparks of life quest and the hourly or so war chest drops. But yes, if there is no incentive, most people will ignore each other. I do that too; I like objective-oriented gameplay. Like yeah I could attack this guy who’s mining this node but why would I do that, I don’t get much out of it. But if there is a war chest dropping, I like to fight over it.
