and now people report for anything too so its quick way to gain warning and next short ban
I was killing people in the Cobalt Assembly PvP area today on my hunter. I stayed after completing my sparks quest because it was hilarious that some people became so irate at being killed. Eventually, I had ~700% mastery, arcane shot hit for ~1million with ~300 yard range.
People were whispering me all sorts of insults, and in general chat they were trying to get everyone to mass report me for harassment! All for hanging around in a world PvP zone!
mass reported for playing pvp on a pvp zone versus people who have warmode on, now i am confused
I know, it was hilarious. Apparently in their eyes, it is harassment to remain in the cobalt assembly after your daily quest is complete!
No wonder GM tickets for genuine problems take so long, when people report nonsense like that.
To be honest, I agree with most of the points you made, atleast on paper. You haven’t replied directly to the above mentioned scenarios though. I know the solution is to just switch WM off and to not participate in pvp, but please enlighten me, what do people get from stuff I mentioned above? Or are you the same, did you gank the same player 15 times in STV years ago?
I’m really curious, what did you gain from that? You obviously ain’t better than other PVPers since you had tons of powers and advangates. You weren’t practicing anything since you were oneshotting, meaning it wasn’t a fair fight. Really, what did you gain from that, apart from ruining other people’s day and making yourself flattered for tons of wrong reasons?
And don’t say you did it for fun. If ruining other people’s experience is fun for you, not only you should be reported, you should be looked at by proffesional institutions for being sadistic and dangerous to the community, with all due respect. Video game or not, doesn’t matter.
How can everyone reply when you have no grasp of the conditions?
What lvl is op talking about, his ilvl/clvl and his targets too?
4 things we need to know first.
And in the rare case we’re talking about only 70v70 in somehow magically achieved exact same ilvl in world pvp, then the answer could be: most people keep WM on for the skills. All my macros get messed up if I don’t have WM on my alts while leveling. It just makes playing way easier and fun, especially on prot warr when you can zoom around like a plow truck.
If some 70 for some reason creeps around where I quest at 40-60 and kills me, and says “why u mad, dont use WM if u dont wanna pvp”, then that guy is a special kind of mouthbreather, who hopefully knows now that this is why low lvl players keep WM on, to have a smoother pve gameplay in the world with access to their pvp talents.
Not to get one shot by some 55 iq genius.
I don’t feel that those are good enough though. Remember, the War Mode buffs are perpetual - they last for as long as you have War Mode on.
The weekly quest is done in a few days in one particular zone and then nothing.
While the drop chests can provide an opportunity for wPvP to form in a specific location, it still is only a flashpoint.
You can also get away with doing no wPvP at all and still get that chest.
There needs to be more incentive to hunt people. Yeah, you have your 10% but whatever is in that Gnome’s pockets should also be alluring!
We already have those ashes that make you hostile to everyone. We could do with more like that.
You can make the rewards whatever you want, but the incentive should be about being in War Mode AND hunting down the other Faction.
People in Coward Mode should be missing out on something completely.
The Problem with Warmode
Its not getting ganked, that
s part of the allure of Wpvp,
the issue is Sharding which in turn causes a huge Faction imbalance.
Horde does not get the Buff regardless of the realm you are on, so for RPPVP servers for example it`s 90% alliance and 10% overall in WM and Alliance still gets the XP buff.
for other realms it s always one of the factions being overwhelmed by the other, since The BUFF is calculated for EU entirely, The Horde never gets buff.
Only Classes who could not care less for Faction imbalance in PVP are ,Stealthers as you can pick and choose your moments
Yeah it’s funny tbh. I was doing the duck world pvp quest a few days ago, killed someone standing in the area, got whispered right after and called a f***** autist or something along those lines.
Like idk man, you’re doing a world pvp quest… with wm on… and you get mad at me killing you and start calling me an autist…? Yeah, makes total sense.
Oh, I have been malding over this for YEARS! Haha…
The PvE incentives are there to get people in, but sharding removes so much of the risk.
The system is just abused by the Alliance on the RP (and old RP-PvP) realms! The system should really be aiming to balance the field.
We should have less sharding (so people can counter gank) but then also the buff should be calculated per shard.
There should also be more incentives for the “weaker” faction to actually fight. Being outnumbered and outbuffed really gives no reason to be there at all.
A few people like WPvP but it’d be great to see more people there to engage in it.
Like Runescape’s Wilderness in its hayday.
But dude, you can finish the quest without milling the other guy.
What does it matter that the quest specifically gives PvP as an option and that it gives extra progression towards completing the quest?
I mean if killing someone while you’re on a pvp quest with a wm on, is somehow “wrong” in your book then I don’t really even know what to say
It literally says “subdue ducks OR kill players”
I literally have 0 reason to not kill someone if they’re there. That’s just the way it is.
People just stop at the “you went out of your way to inconvience me” rather than pushing the thought all the way through.
At the end of that line, you tend to realise that WM rewards aren’t meant to be free!
Which is not so very true. Once you enter the WPvP WQ zone and start killing MY NPCs, I will simply attack you if you are green to me, which makes you part of the quest. That neither means I am trying to flex to you nor trying to satisfy my 14 years old ego.
The PvP community is different from than PvE community and I understand your annoyance with PvP. But they are ordinary human beings just like you and playing their game and want to play it against real players, not against scripted NPCs.
It is ok because they activated WM and they are supposed to be there for PvPing. This is what I am seeking by activating WM.
It is Blizzard’s fault for NOT putting better rewards on the WM. You speak about the carrots but by your thinking, all game activities are about putting carrots. People already not join to WPvP because they have to.
Fair enough, not everything in this game is for everyone, for example, I am raiding until I get what I want from that raid and it is never fun.
Wait wait wait What?!?
You mean that I can right now level up all my parked level 60 alts to 70 in record time?!
Did they buff the xP?
(trembling hands)
(googles about it)
Now that I tamed heroic Raszageth, shrunk her and made her into my mount, I willl focus on leveling all these alts!

Hahaha true. My favourite ragewhisper is “Gz :)))))))))”
[21:13] [Loser-Pyrewood Village] whispers: why ran?
[21:14] [Loser-Pyrewood Village] whispers: you killed me before?
[21:16] [Loser-Pyrewood Village] whispers: CHICKEN!!!
[21:16] [Loser-Pyrewood Village] whispers: TRASH ROGUE!!!1!!!
Max level players going to low level zones to snipe off low level characters aside (sad & lame, don’t do that) if you’re using warmode for the bonus on a max level character you have no real right to complain if you do end up dying every now and then.
That posability was the whole reason those bonus rewards were added in to begin with, it wouldn’t even exist if the threat of dying wasn’t there.
Then later they were made variable when population spread became a serious problem (it used to be just 10 for everyone, but got changed to scale up to 30 for the underpopulated faction)
Thats just my opinion tho.

It is ok because they activated WM and they are supposed to be there for PvPing. This is what I am seeking by activating WM.
Exactly; it’s what YOU are seeking.
Doesn’t mean it’s that way for everyone.
Compare it to going out: Some people are at a nighclub to just relax, have a drink and then go home. Some are there to hook up with someone. With your kind of logic, you’re saying that it’s okay for the person who wants to hook up to force that other person into it; while that isn’t why they were there and have no interest in it.
See how that’s not okay?
Well… Same applies to WM.
As long as there are multiple reasons to turn it on, people will have different reasons for doing so. So making that mode ONLY attractive to those who WANT to compete in WPvP is the way to go imo; because then everyone will be there for the same reason.
There’s also rares. I fight a lot over rares especially in the new zone. It’s pretty fun. Like if you want non-stop fighting there’s BG’s for that. I like fighting over objectives and then chilling when there’s nothing up on the map. I don’t see the point in going full bloodthirst “I will kill everyone I see for whatever reason” mode, but if that’s what gets your engine going then more power to you.

Wait wait wait What?!?
You mean that I can right now level up all my parked level 60 alts to 70 in record time?!
Yes
80-90K XP + the mob XP/ TW
