This has always bugged me.
It wouldn’t even bug me at all if WoW was Blizzard’s one and only game, because then, there would at least be no inconsistency.
I’m currently not paying for StarCraft.
I’m playing Hearthstone on a daily basis, yet I’ve never dropped a single penny into the game.
…And I’ve always been able to post on the dedicated forums of these games.
For WoW though? NOPE, gotta pay - even if you bought a handful of expansions and have already spent hundreds of dollars over the years! Why does it have to be that way?
If anything, unsubbed players who are still involved enough in the game to keep coming and sharing their thoughts after they’re gone should be considered a valuable source of feedback.
But nope. Can’t post!

Several reasons. Though I suppose the main one would be to prevent advertising from gold sellers, boosting services, key sellers etc. MMORPGs are more susceptible to those than say RTSes or “card” games. Considering how little manpower Blizzard is willing to devote to maintaining the forums, they really don’t need that kind of thing.

WoW is one of the games where the Devs have to grind gold from the mobs. So, these mobs must be present or subbed for the grind.

Can you imagine all the people who have left the game clogging up the forums with their hate for BFA and Blizzard.

I can imagine, and I’m certainly hoping that with such a large amount of people voicing their discontent towards WoW’s current design, Blizzard would take feedback into account moving forward.

“Wow is dead” “Why are you still playing a dead game” “FFXX is better than wow” “This is why I canceled my sub”
Need I continue?

Such valuable feedback. Like AMAZING…I bet Ion can’t sleep until he has read his daily death-threats…

You’d think that with a higher trust level the restriction would be lifted. By that point you aren’t really a potential spammer/goldseller/troll anymore

But how can you give valuable feedback if you are not actually playing the game? All you are then doing is spouting whatever it is that the particular streamer or youtuber or whatever is showing you. If you’re not actively playing the game then how do you know what you are being told/shown is actually how it is?

If you want to see what the unsubbed community has to offer go to the r/WoW Reddit and browse by fresh.
And yeah, even Blizzard checks this Reddit from time to time (on multiple occasions badly handled tickets, bugs or specific issues were solved by CM on the Reddit) so they have this “valuable” feedback.

I wasn’t playing BFA yet when I saw footage of its class design and I instantly knew, before even trying it myself, that it would be garbage.

Thank you for proving my point.

Your childish one-liner does not qualify as a pertinent argument I’m afraid.

and judging something without playing it isn’t feedback I’m afraid.

You don’t need to try something in person to know whether you’ll enjoy or not, whether it’s good or not.
I’m sure you can come up with examples on your own.
But then that is your opinion and not feedback. Judging something without experience doesn’t count as feedback as you have no firsthand knowledge of the system and why it does/doesn’t work.
For example I could say that I won’t enjoy Love Island as I think it is an awful television programme, but that is just my opinion, I couldn’t then write any actual feedback on the programme as I have never seen it and I am judging without actually experiencing it.
edit: I am not saying here that your initial opinion was wrong and that the class design isn’t garbage, just that cannot give useful feedback, as the OP was implying, without actually experiencing the gameplay.

Why are you playing it then?
You’re paying a sub to whine on the forums.

You can though.
My class minus all the tools it used to have = no need to try to know that I won’t enjoy it.
Which brings us to this thread: I wish I could whine for free, but it’s not possible yet.
this community is already a bunch of snowflakes who complain and complain and complain…
…and you want more and even worse??

It still isn’t feedback it is just an opinion.
