Why do you play Alliance?

Not trying to start a flame war here, just curious. I have always been Horde except for a small window during wotlk when I got kinda bored of the game and faction changed to Alliance just to see how its like, and hated it. Alliance cities are lame, the races are lame (gnomes and dwarves especially), the lore is unimaginative and overall being Alliance feels horrible.
Hell, a few of my RL friends played on Nostalrius and knowing that I play(ed) WoW asked me to join them on the Alliance side and I only managed to get my human warlock to level 10 because playing on alliance was unbearable.
A lot of you are bashing us Horde players for playing on the “OP faction” but what else are you gonna do if you dont want to play on the lame faction?

Basically I’m boring and can relate to being a Human.

My friends and I rolled Alliance as we knew we’d be the underdog and would have more people to kill. Also, played a lot of horde in the past so why not

Ironically we do have more people to kill, but to a stupid extent XD

OH and paladin, DUH

i like the faction, i prefer the zone alliance story lines, and i enjoy the dwarf and human themes (less the night elves and gnomes, but they are really a minor presence in most zones with interesting leveling i do)

I first played as alliance when I started playing WoW back in 2005 because after reading the descriptions for each class, the paladin was the one that appealed to me. I liked the idea of playing as a kind of crusader/warrior that had a big hammer and could also heal people. I went on to play as an alliance paladin for more than 3 years until I quit WoW during WotLK.

When Classic was announced I decided I was going to play Horde as it would be silly to replay a game in the exact same way I already played the hell out of for 3 years solid, but I could see the Horde faction was once again going to massively outnumber the alliance, so I decided to do my part to help this situation by not adding to their numbers. I figured I’d still be able to have a new experience by playing a class I had literally never played before, not even as an alt, so I made an alliance rogue.

Unfortunately PvP servers (the only type I enjoy) are not fun because of Horde overpopulation, which is why I haven’t bothered to play for a month. Maybe I’ll give PvE a try.

I loved Alliance more than horde in the past and love Alliance in classic, nowadays I prever horde more even if gnome is my favourite race because they whine less.

I guess I like the challenge while the best racials is from undead and orc that I can’t play for their ugliness.

I was “forced” since guild helt a vote and horde lost im guessing since our retail branch(back from when classic was classic) is horde…i did not agree but ofcause i follow my guild. Been in the guild almost 20 years so for me following my guild is a given even if i have to play this puzzyazz fraction.

I play Horde, because from what I saw on private server, this is the best faction for solo player. I play Horde for UD cast animation, racial, and lot of Horde player are solo player, that mean you can do something in the world even if you don’t play in premade. Meanwhile, Alliance play in premade, for most of them, and they don’t play solo. They are better than us in general, I admit. I don’t want to be dependent on other player to enjoy it, because I don’t have enough skill to play in premade. So Alliance is a no go for me in Vanilla/Classic.

In my “WoW life”, the only expansion I was Alliance is on Lich King due to Alliance Human racial that was just overpowered for arena (double PvE trinket while as Horde, you have to use the PvP trinket …).

Alliance have better options for warriors, playing as a retarded shrek is just not an option. Oh and better cities, im playing horde on retail since wotlk and i hate to look at orgrimmar with the mudhuts and sht… Stormwind, ironforge, dalaran, boralus is a lot better looking and more practical.

I’m usually Horde but I just couldn’t bring myself to play one of their races in classic.

Trolls and undead run funny, Orcs are well…Orcs and I don’t do well as a cow hence my magnificent level on this character. Hence I’m Alliance in classic.

Hai, my name is Herxes and I am an Alliance boy.
I like to immerse myself in medieval holy warrior lore and interact with beer dwarves and engineering gnomes. I like the tree hippies in Kalimdor, cause they are tall Chads that pat nature and have intercourses with sexy centaur women with big milkies.

The horde are ugly, scummy, and they are bad by nature. I don’t like to be the bad guy because bad guys are bad. I will never be a Hordie because they don’t have the sexies like the Alliance.

IF and SW are my favourite cities. I also love dwarves and humans.

I know the majority of quests too so I rarely have to look at a guide.

I also prefer the alliance starting zones so I just find it difficult to get past level 10 as horde although mulgore is pretty good.

Rly? Alliance cities are lame? We, dwarves, have the most epic city inside the mountain, with great liquid metal rivers, night elves have the most beautiful architecture and temples. Humans have great keeps of solid stone, gnomes have a capital with top technology level, and what do you have? Tauren wigwams? Orgrimmar ugly wooden buildings? A sewerage with radioactive water called Undercity? I wonder how you, horde, find some reason to fight for, obviously you barbarians have no culture and no taste, would be much better if you give your cities to us, real masters of civilization building:)

P.S. In fact I love horde almost as much as alliance, but I tried to answer like if I really were my alliance character

Most horde dress up as human pirates to avoid their characters so go figure.

Not me bby I’m my true self to scare you more

  1. I like playing the underdog.
  2. I like the PvP to be more challenging which is why I rolled a Warlock knowing that 50% of horde were UD with WoTF. It takes more skill to do well with Alliance in PvP.
  3. Duskwood. Its one of the best looking zones in the game and the atmosphere is amazing. The quests are also a lot of fun.
  4. Stormwind is one of the nicest looking capitals and has the best music also.
  5. Deadmines > Wailing Caverns
  6. Better looking PvP gear.
  7. Better looking low level zones (Redridge, Westfall and Auberdine)
  8. Hogger > Mankirks wife

Almost entirely for IF, can sit there and chill all day. I suppose I’m part of the problem then on a lot of pvp servers.

I much prefer all the horde models and animations but it’s a sacrifice.

Other perks are generally getting instant bg queues, but i suppose we’ll see how that pans out in a few days.

You are one of the few orcs I would happily share a beer with.

Then would gladly let you murderize me.

Also, dwarfs are awesome, have you seen their beards?

Nah, I’m sure you are not boring, and relating to your character to feel more immersed in the game world is important in a role playing game, just because I roleplay as my class, I can’t relate as well to be a Tauren or a Gnome, so I pick race depending on how much I like it not like most players who choose races cuz of racial ability or some other nonsense, those people have no idea that this is an MMORPG and not a MOBA or FPS game!
